First up on the list of upcoming Remedy Entertainment games are the highly anticipated remakes of Max Payne 1 and Max Payne 2. These projects were officially announced some time ago, and after much initial work, they’re finally ready to kick into high gear. Fans will be thrilled that these iconic action games are getting a facelift for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Taking it a step further, Remedy has joined forces with Rockstar Games to bring these remakes to life. Rockstar will bear the costs and handle the publishing, letting Remedy focus entirely on the development.
Notably, these new versions will be crafted using the Northlight Engine, which powered Alan Wake 2. Well, if you see AW2’s gameplay videos, you should be happy for a potential seamless and visually stunning gaming experience.

Another intriguing addition to the roster of upcoming Remedy Entertainment games is Control 2. The narrative threads linking Control and Alan Wake 2 have become vividly clear, marking an expansion of the Remedy Cinematic Universe.
Given this web of related stories, expectations for Control 2 are now sky-high. It’s incredibly fascinating to consider how Sam Lake, Remedy’s Creative Director, will link the worlds of his various games.
As for the game’s development, Control 2 is currently in the “Proof-of-concept” stage. Remedy Entertainment has plans to refine the game’s design and overall build throughout the coming year. So, while details are scant right now, it’s safe to assume that a more comprehensive update on Control 2 will likely be available towards the end of 2024.
Remedy Entertainment signs a co-development and co-publishing agreement with 505 Games for Control 2. No release date yet.

Another gem in the list of upcoming Remedy Entertainment games is a project currently known by its codename, Condor. Unlike the mainline Control series, Condor is setting its sights on a multiplayer experience.
Remedy Entertainment reins on development, while 505 Games is stepping in to handle the publishing aspects. It’s an exciting variation for the studio, known for its deep, single-player narratives.
While details are light, Condor is further along in its development compared to Control 2. The studio has already transitioned to the “Production readiness stage”. Designed to be a service-based game, Condor aims to keep players engaged for years through its online elements.
Unfortunately, as of now, there’s no official release date. Still, given its development stage, it’s one of the upcoming Remedy Entertainment games to watch.

Update: Codename Vanguard, initially planned as a free-to-play co-op game, has undergone a significant transformation. It’s now being pitched as “A premium game with a robust cooperative multiplayer element”. Accompanying this shift is a fresh codename: Kestrel.
Original Story: Among the upcoming Remedy Entertainment games, Codename Vanguard stands out as a unique offering. In partnership with Tencent, the game departs from Remedy’s typical single-player focus and ventures into online PvE (Player vs. Environment) gameplay.
Consequently, players can anticipate a totally different experience from what they’ve come to expect from classic Remedy titles.
While development is currently on Unreal Engine 4, there are no visuals like images or videos to share yet. Interestingly, Remedy is in the market for additional development partners to contribute to this project.
Of all the upcoming Remedy Entertainment games, Codename Vanguard seems to be the furthest from completion, adding a layer of mystery to its development.
