The latest addition to real-time strategy games is Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin, and it has captured the attention of thousands. The RTS game by Frontier Developments was something many players had been eyeing ever since the announcement. But one question that had some people stumped was whether the game would support cross-generation gameplay and, more importantly, if we would get Realms of Ruin on PS4.
Will Realms of Ruin Be Released On PS4?
While being optimistic about the future is a good thing, we don’t want to give our readers false hope. On release, Realms of Ruin on PS4 will not be a thing since it’s only releasing for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam or the Epic Games store. And don’t hold your breath for future updates because Realms of Ruin on PS4 might never become a reality.
The main reason for this is simply that the PS4 has become outdated. Developers have now started releasing games exclusively for the next-gen consoles, so they could maybe link them up with the newer consoles in the future. The PS4 has become near obsolete, and releasing a game for it would require a lot of unnecessary effort.

Alternate Platforms For Realms of Ruin
It’s not necessary to have a PlayStation 5 for Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin. Fortunately, the game has been released on multiple platforms like Xbox Series XS and PC as well. While you will have to check the game’s requirements to run it on PC before buying, that can definitely be a viable option for players slightly strapped for cash.
If you’re thinking of buying it on PC, you can easily find the game through your Steam account or an Epic Games account if you have one. Players who have anticipated the game’s release but are yet to have any of the mentioned platforms should probably make a decision because Realms of Ruin on PS4 seems like a long shot now.

Realms of Ruin Pricing and Deluxe Edition
The base game isn’t all there is to look out for when it comes to Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin. If you want the entire gaming experience, you can buy the Ultimate or Deluxe Edition as well. On purchase, you get the base game alongside some other extra content we’ll talk about.

For the Deluxe edition of the game, you will receive four Alternate Hero skins (One skin per faction) and two Profile Customisation Sets. The Ultimate includes all of these things, but you’ll also get access to some fun DLC. Players with the Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin Ultimate Edition get access to Hero downloadable content 1 and 2, content which is still in the making. They also get their hands on two brand new heroes to use in Conquest mode and multiplayer.
PlayStation 5 Support For Realms of Ruins
Now that we’ve talked extensively about the Realms of Ruin on PS4 possibility, let’s shift our focus to something that’s actually happening. The game is being released on the PlayStation 5. Frontier Developments knows that while making a cross-platform game, you need to balance out controls between PC and console gamers. This is obviously because PC gamers have tons of extra buttons, while console gamers only have one’s present on the controller.
To combat this disparity, they introduced a refined control scheme for console controllers, which will allow you to execute all your commands smoothly and effectively. Not only have they made things easy for console players, but you can also find an in-game guide to the controls, which will help you get the hang of it faster.
This will allow for a fairer playing field amongst all platform gamers since the game is based heavily on the micromanagement of troops. Not being able to smoothly transition and give our orders could lead to repeated failure in matches.
