The annual FIFA series, now known as EA Sports FC, will be grazing football gaming fans’ screens in two months as EA just announced EA Sports FC 25, the follow-up to last year’s EA Sports FC 24. As usual with their annual release, players can expect Career Mode enhancements and Ultimate Team and Pro Clubs updates, but the details are still under closed-lips.
However, one thing that’s been circulating about EA Sports FC 25 is the game’s cover star. With many leaks pointing to Jude Bellingham, EA confirmed on their socials that the talented Englishman will grace the cover of EA Sports FC 25 and EA Sports FC Mobile. At age 21, Jude Bellingham will become the youngest-ever footballer to ever appear on the cover of an EA Sports game.
As seen in the picture above, Jude Bellingham’s EA Sports FC 25 cover photo comes from his signature Belligol celebration in Real Madrid’s 3-2 win against rivals Barcelona and a tribute of honour for his dazzling first season with Los Blancos for winning LaLiga, the Spanish Super Cup, the UEFA Champions League and finalist at the recently ended Euro 2024.

Yesterday, on July 17, EA officially announced that Jude Bellingham will be the cover star of EA Sports FC 25 via a press release. David Jackson, the franchise’s vice president of brand, praised Bellingham’s accomplishments, saying he “aligns strongly with our future; as we move from product to platform, transcending the sport at the intersection of football, culture and entertainment, and we’re thrilled to welcome him as this year’s EA Sports FC cover star.”
Jude Bellingham responded: “I played this game with my brother all the time growing up, and I’ve always thought about how incredible it would be to one day be featured on the cover. There have been so many iconic players on the cover over the years, and I am delighted to be the most recent English player to be bestowed with this honour since 2011”, with Wayne Rooney being the last English player on the cover of FIFA 11.
“I’m also truly honoured to be featured on the cover of Ultimate Edition with true legends of the game, both past and present in Beckham, Bonmatí, Buffon and Zidane.”
The announcement of Jude Bellingham as EA Sports FC 25 cover star also signals the changing of the guard from the two greatest of all time, Messi and Ronaldo, as the new generation of Mbappe (22, 23), Haaland (24) and Bellingham (25), with Lamine Yamal possibly adding to the list in the future of cover star holders.
EA Sports FC 25 Release Date and Platforms
EA Sports FC 25’s official release date will follow its long-standing tradition of releasing on the last Friday of September, which is September 27, 2024. Players who pre-order the game will also have a week of early access starting September 20.
As for the game’s platform, the game will be playable on the PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. The game will also be available on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, though Switch users may only have the Standard Edition.

Here We Go!! Fabrizio Romano Is Also Joining EA Sports FC 25
Although fans and critics are well within reason to critic EA Sports FC 25 as the same game with new jerseys, the latest EA Sports FC has brought something different to the game. Firstly, legendary Italian sports journalist Fabrizio Romano will join the game’s Career Mode and will provide transfer news updates. Thus, you may not even notice when your player leaves your club.
Secondly, Volta is gone as EA has decided to scrape their stylised and street-influenced gameplay of Volta for a new Rush match type. According to EA, Rush is a new five-a-side football set-up available in every game mode, where you can play with real-life teams and players, meaning you can choose five players to compete instead of the regular eleven.
Lastly, Ultimate Team finally has a unique storage area for players to keep their Untradeable duplicates, meaning players won’t have to exchange their players for Squad Building Challenges constantly.

From everything we have seen, community suggestions and criticisms from previous instalments have likely influenced the development of EA Sports FC 25 with new additions and the removal of unwanted gameplay.
