With PlateUp!’s console launch just around the corner, there is one question on everyone’s mind: Is PlateUp! on mobile? Is PlateUp! On Mobile?
The answer is no. Unfortunately, PlateUp! is yet to be released on mobile. We’re just getting the console version released two years after the game’s initial release so it was to be expected. The indie food simulation game was originally released in August 2022, developed by It’s happening and published by Yogscast, on PC.
We received confirmation that it would also be released on consoles in late 2023, followed by an announcement that the release date had been pushed to early 2024. While that turned out all well and good for console players, Yogscast is yet to address its mobile fanbase. The game might not be on Android or iOS yet but we can hope that it will follow the same trend as the console release sometime in the future.
Will We See PlateUp! On Mobile in the Future?

Even though PlateUp! hasn’t been released on mobile yet, fans are still hopeful that the culinary simulation game will eventually make its way onto the Play Store and App Store. While we don’t want to shatter anyone’s hopes, there has not been any official indication by It’s happening or Yogscast about bringing the game to mobile.
There could be a possibility that following the release of their console launch, they may gauge the popularity of the game and decide to expand their player base even further. This is not official news by the developers, but rather a trend we’ve come to see in many games before.

Alternate Platforms for PlateUp!
It’s true that PlateUp! on mobile might not be a thing for the foreseeable future but that doesn’t mean you need to miss out on the fun. If you want to join in on the chaotic workings of running a restaurant, here are the other platforms PlateUp! is available on:
- Nintendo Switch
- Xbox Series X/S
- PlayStation 4/5
- Microsoft Windows
It’s happening and Yogscast haven’t indicated that they plan to release PlateUp! on mobile anytime soon so it’s better to switch to an alternative if available. Unfortunately, if you don’t have any of these alternative platforms, you’ll just have to wait and pray that we see a notification sometime soon.
Is There Cross-Platform Gameplay on PlateUp!?
Many players were wondering whether Yogscast and It’s happening would start to focus more on cross-platform gameplay with the release of the console version. The game has already racked up quite a player base on PC via Steam and is expected to do the same on consoles. Making cross-platform gaming available would allow you to play with your friends from different platforms.

However, Yogscast has mentioned that this feature is not in the pipeline for now. The logistical aspect of bringing cross-platform to PlateUp! might prove to be too difficult and may increase bugs or glitches in the game. No one likes to play a game with tons of exploits. So for everyone waiting for cross-platform to be available, we’d advise you not to hold your breath.
Yogscast and It’s happening have really focused on refining their game before releasing it to the public. This was seen when they pushed back the original release date in order to fix some glitches before the big console launch. Players will just have to trust the developers in their decisions since major updates can often go sideways if not prepared properly.

The Takeaway
Dismissal of the idea of PlateUp! on mobile is definitely disheartening but this article proves that there are other alternatives if you want to opt for them. The game is a really great way to enjoy some chaotic culinary madness alone or with your friends. Give it a try on any of the mentioned platforms and see how you like it.
