With just a month away from BlizzCon 2023, Blizzard CEO Mike Ybarra confirms Warcraft will highlight the event as the main attraction. After Blizzard Entertainment released a sneak roadmap regarding BlizzCon 2023, many fans noticed that Overwatch 2 dominated much of the content in the roadmap. 

Thus, a fan by the name of SaltySlickrock expressed his and many similar fans’ concern about Warcraft playing second-fiddle to the likes of Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4. In response, Blizzard CEO Mike Ybarra pointed out that the final design of the graphic does not highlight the importance of the games. Continuing where we left off, Blizzard CEO Mike Ybarra debunked claims of SaltySlickrock, stating that Warcraft is playing an inferior role to Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4 in the upcoming BlizzCon 2023. In reality, Ybarra claims the space shared by World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, and Warcraft Rumble is bigger than any of the other individual halls. Furthermore, he also reassured fans that the Warcraft franchise has the biggest announcements of the event.

2 Things to Expect in BlizzCon 2023

1) World of Warcraft Expansion and Warcraft Rumble 

As mentioned earlier, with the return of Chris Metzen as the Creative Director of World of Warcraft, he is now in charge of the game’s future. Thus, to grant him such an opportunity, Chris Metzen and his team would take the stage during BlizzCon 2023 to share what is next in store for the Warcraft universe.

Furthermore, World of Warcraft tweeted an official trailer to mark their return to BlizzCon 2023. The trailer features the composition of major Dragonflight Cinematics edited together and ends with them asking players to join them for the next adventure. 

Moreover, we may receive news about another game in the Warcraft franchise, Warcraft Rumble, which is only available in countries such as the Philippines, Australia, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, and Norway. Will it finally be available for a full launch? We can only wait and see.

2) Hearthstone and Overwatch 2

Before Mike Ybarra dropped the bombshell statement of Warcraft headlining BlizzCon 2023, many expected Overwatch 2 to be the main priority of the event. While Overwatch 2 may not convey the most information, the game will undoubtedly generate views as it will reveal a new tank hero for Season 8. In addition, the game will have a separate hall dedicated to the Overwatch World Cup.
