Fallout 4 was excellent, with great RPG mechanics, memorable characters, and entertaining lore. However, the game wasn’t properly concluded and Fallout 5 is the perfect opportunity to fix those plot holes. That said, Bethesda Game Studios hasn’t been consistent, and its recent games haven’t been impressive. So, every gamer at Player.com is looking forward to the game’s release, but before then, here are some leaks and insider info to enjoy.

The Fallout 5 Leaks and Trailers
Fallout 5 leaks and trailers are pretty much non-existent at this time. However, we know that the game isn’t in development for now because the studio is focusing on Elder Scrolls 6 instead. Fallout’s development will start after Elder Scrolls 6 has been released.
An official from the studio released a statement: “Yes, Elder Scrolls 6 is in pre-production… and, you know, we’re going to be doing Fallout 5 after that, so our slate’s pretty full going forward for a while. We have some other projects that we look at from time to time as well”.

Ultimately, the game is under development already, but it’ll take a few years for it to be ready. At least, gamers will wait for at least three years before they can play the game. Nevertheless, there’s no concrete release date to look forward to. On the bright side, the mere mention of Fallout 5 is good news.
Fallout 5’s Possible Setting
Every Fallout game so far has been set in the USA, so there’s a strong possibility that it will also be set in the USA. To start with, Fallout 3’s setting was Washington, while Fallout 4 took place in Boston. Also, the newer games were set on the East Coast, which means that Fallout 5’s events will play out in those states. Nonetheless, there are many speculations out there, including the mention of several locations such as New Orleans, Alaska, and Chicago.
However, the setting is still a mystery until further notice. Fallout 5’s studio hasn’t released any news about the upcoming game’s setting, so we can only wait. Let’s also remember that all Fallout games are single-player experiences.
A Single-Player Experience Awaits
All Fallout games only prioritise single-player modes and it seems that the studio is sticking to that rule. That doesn’t mean that the studio won’t include a multiplayer experience to keep players interested in the game for years. Besides that, we should receive several upgrades and DLCs along the way.

- Graphic Upgrade: Fallout 76 was plagued with several bugs upon release and even years after it was launched. So, some rumours suggest that the game will be developed from scratch using a new game engine. That means that most of the bugs that appeared in the studio’s previous games won’t appear again. We sincerely hope it will be developed using Unreal Engine 5, so textures, shadows, and lighting will be photorealistic.
- Many DLCs Await: The good thing about Fallout games is that they’re renowned for their DLCs. So, there’s a high chance that the game will also follow suit. Hopefully, there won’t be as many plot holes in the new game as in the old one.
Fallout 4’s Modding Potential
Fallout 4 may have been released in 2015, but it still retains a lot of its magic. To that end, many modders have created different solutions to the flaws in Fallout 4. So, before the game is released, you can enjoy a fully modded prequel that introduces new content and approaches to quests and combat. Some of the best Fallout 4 mods that we enjoyed using are:
- An Unofficial Patch for Fallout 4: Fallout 4, like some games from Bethesda Game Studios, is riddled with nasty bugs. The studio never addressed these issues, instead opting to develop DLCs and other games. Fortunately, the Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch removes the majority of bugs in Fallout 4, allowing players to experience smooth gameplay.
- Full Dialogue Interface: There wasn’t enough space for the protagonist’s dialogue in the vanilla version of Fallout 4. Yet, this mod fully corrects that issue, letting players see their dialogue options in full. You don’t have to shoot in the dark anymore. Instead, you’ll fully see each option and you can weigh them against each other.
- Vivid Fallout: Vivid Fallout is a mod that visually upgrades the landscapes of Fallout 4. True, the game doesn’t look bad but it could be better, which is where this mod comes in. Textures, shadows, and lighting have been considerably improved, making the game and its characters even more memorable.
- Better Settlers: Settlers and other NPCs take away from Fallout 4’s authenticity. For one, you can find multiple NPCs with the same face and build roaming settlements in the game. To vary the faces that you come across, Better Settlers is a mod that introduces 230 new NPCs to the game. It also improves their AI so they don’t act half-witted.
- Upgrade From Anywhere: Place Anywhere is a mod that allows gamers to upgrade their settlements from anywhere on the map. Workshop Mode is the name and it allows you to increase your settlement’s defence and attack power at your leisure. This also increases your freedom so you can approach missions from more angles.
- Better Storm Simulations: Storms are much more realistic in Fallout 4 with this mod installed. True Storms introduces new types of storms to your list of encounters in the sandbox. You’ll stumble across dust storms, radiation rains, and more. The mod truly paints the picture of a bleak world of mutated monsters and survivalists.
Our Final Say: Fallout 5 Will Receive a Positive Response from the Gaming Community
Yes, many players in the gaming community don’t like Fallout 76 because of its numerous bugs. However, Starfield is still considered a beloved title by many gamers and we expect Fallout 5 to receive the same reception. Despite that, there’s still a possibility that it will receive better reviews than any other Bethesda Game Studios title. Still, we’re a long way from getting our hands on a copy of Fallout 5.
We should also expect to get weapon upgrades and a better character editor that’ll boast more customisation options than Fallout 4. It should also come with better storytelling mechanics, which have been a strength of Fallout games ever since they started rolling out. We should also discuss our desire for Fallout 5 to be set in another location besides the USA.
