For 30 long years, FIFA and EA Sports teamed up to create the much-loved football games that made our thumbs sore and our hearts race. Starting with “FIFA International Soccer”, in 1993, they’ve given us one epic game after another, the most recent being FIFA 23. But we might have bad news if you’re waiting for the FIFA 24 release date.
EA has announced its next game as EA Sports FC 24 (EA FC 24), officially marking the end of an era. The partnership was initially extended to 2022, but with FIFA 23 now out, the final whistle has blown on their historic partnership.
So, what happens to FIFA 24? Without an extension of the EA deal, it looks like FIFA will need to team up with a new developer. It’s time for a new season and direction for FIFA games.

FIFA 24 Release Date

The chant for a FIFA 24 release date might have to stay on the bench for a bit. With the FIFA and EA partnership hitting the showers, the future of the FIFA series is in extra time.
But wait to hang up your controller. Gianni Infantino, who’s been running the FIFA show since 2016, has dropped some tantalising hints. He reassured us that “The only authentic, real game with the FIFA name will be the best one available for gamers and football fans, and The FIFA name is the only global, original title… So, it will remain the best forever”.
Reading between the lines, Infantino’s comments could suggest FIFA 25 might still take to the pitch in the future. When the end of the EA and FIFA partnership was announced in 2022, it was a shock to the system. After all, they’ve had a winning streak for decades. Now it seems that announcement was a harbinger of what was to come.
But there’s a silver lining to this whole EA and FIFA split. If FIFA can find a new partner willing to meet their asking price, a whole new game could be in play. EA’s 30-year deal with FIFA covered a vast pitch, from the UEFA Champions League to the UEFA Euro 2004 titles.
With FIFA President Infantino’s bullish remarks about the future, there’s a glimmer of hope for an even more thrilling football gaming experience. But as for a FIFA 24 release date? No news yet if it’s on the cards or if it’s been shown the red card.

EA Sports FC 24 Is Ready

Even without a FIFA 24 release date, EA Sports isn’t missing a beat. They’re lacing up for a new empire under the title FC 24. And we’ve already got our calendars marked for its debut on September 29, 2023. Can’t wait to see the likes of Haaland in the latest digital kit.
FC 24 promises a jam-packed roster of over 19,000 players, over 700 teams, over 100 stadiums, and fully licensed versions of more than 30 leagues. And it’s not ditching our favourite modes either — Ultimate Team and Volta are back with a bang. Maybe the EA and FIFA split is just what we needed to bring fresh excitement to our football gaming.
