Everything to Know About Green Hell
Story and Plot

As mentioned above, Green Hell is a survival simulation game set in the dense and hard-to-traverse Amazon rainforest, known for its biodiversity and environmental hazards. In this game, we will follow the journey of a protagonist named Jake Higgins, an anthropologist who finds himself alone in the jungle after a failed expedition.
The story begins with Jake and his wife, Mia, arriving in the Amazon rainforest. Mia is researching the Yabahuaca tribe, a secluded and mysterious group believed to have healing knowledge that could benefit humanity. However, the couple gets separated early, and Jake must survive alone in the dense jungle while trying to find Mia.
Throughout his journey, Jake begins experiencing disturbing hallucinations and memories, suggesting that not everything is as it seems. These hallucinations relate to stress, lack of sleep, or exposure to certain plants, and they reveal glimpses of Jake’s past and the nature of his relationship with Mia.
The narrative explores themes of survival, isolation, and mental health as Jake struggles to survive and uncover the mysteries of his predicament.
Gameplay Features and Game Modes

As one would suspect from a survival game, players must gather resources such as food, water, and materials to survive. It also includes hunting animals, foraging for plants, and collecting crafting materials. Crafting is essential for survival, as players can create tools, weapons, and equipment using materials to build shelters and other structures to protect themselves from the elements and wildlife.
Players must also be aware of their physical condition, as the game features a realistic health system where untreated wounds can lead to dire consequences. Besides the physical aspect, players have a sanity meter that reflects the mental state of the player’s character. Factors like isolation, darkness, eating certain foods, and encountering stressful situations can lower sanity, leading to hallucinations and increased difficulty in gameplay.
Green Hell also offers a multiplayer feature where players can survive together in the jungle. However, cooperation is crucial as players can share resources, assist in crafting, and help each other during critical moments.
Lastly, Green Hell provides three different game modes. For instance, the game offers a narrative story mode, a survive-until-you-die survival mode and an anything-you-like challenge mode.
Parting Notes

With everything considered, Green Hell offers a challenging and immersive survival experience emphasising realism and psychological depth. Its detailed simulation of the jungle environment, complex survival mechanics and compelling story make it a standout title in the survival genre.
Moreover, this announcement of a PS5 and Xbox Series X|S gives the player base hope for new updates, as Green Hell’s last groundbreaking announcement was 2023’s State of Play in February.
