2024 is almost here and there are new releases and previous entries to pick up. Today, Player.com is focusing on the co-op games of 2024 that are worth a look. The majority of these games are FPS, but the studios managed to mix in some survival elements. It’s a respectable move because variety is the spice of life, so too much sci-fi will eventually get boring.

The 10 Best Co-Op Games of 2024
This is a list of the upcoming co-op games of 2024 and titles that have already been released in 2023. Sure, the 2023 games were highly rated by critics and fans alike. Below are overviews of their combat mechanics, campaigns, and other unforgettable highlights.
#1: Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is a supervillain game where you control Deadshot, King Shark, Captain Boomerang, and Harley Quinn. So, you can play solo with AIs controlling the other three characters or in co-op game mode with your friends. We’re looking forward to chaining combos while switching characters at a quick speed.
Additionally, the story isn’t boring since Brainiac invaded Earth and has started brainwashing people, including heroes such as Superman, Batman, and the Flash. Ultimately, the fact that Wonder Woman has to join forces with the Suicide Squad to save the Earth has sold us already. It’ll be released on February 2, 2024.
#2: HELLDIVERS 2
HELLDIVERS 2 will launch on February 8, 2024, for fans of sci-fi third-person games. It’s similar to Star Wars in the sense that you’re a rebel who seeks freedom from an oppressive regime. You’ll fight across different biomes with unique flora and fauna. However, HELLDIVERS 2’s defining trait is its hostile sandbox, where every creature and plant on all planets wants you dead.
So, Super Earth equips you with the necessary weapons, powers, gadgets, and technology to conquer your battles. Yet, despite all the splendour that has been advertised, this game offers only online co-op.
#3: Skull & Bones
Skull & Bones will be launched on February 13, 2024, for the PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. It’s a game about a rookie pirate with aspirations to become the most feared across the seas and oceans. Players are promised an experience that lets us customise ships, recruit new pirates, and engage in frantic naval battles.
You’ll explore the Coast of Africa down to the tropical islands of the East Indies. However, there’s hell in paradise so watch your step and be mindful of your surroundings. Ultimately, a looting system will be at the heart of gameplay, encouraging players to pillage NPCs and other players alike.
#4: Little Nightmares 3
Little Nightmares 3 doesn’t have a concrete release date yet. However, the studio has announced that it’ll be one of the co-op games of 2024 for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The game follows the adventures of two protagonists, Low and Alone, who explore The Nowhere while keeping several threats at bay.
Low uses a bow and arrow, while Alone wields a wrench. Besides eliminating enemies, you’ll also come across many puzzles that block your path. You won’t be able to progress without solving the puzzles. You can play solo with an AI controlling the other protagonist, or with your friend.
#5: Streets of Rogue 2
Streets of Rogue 2 is among the top co-op games of 2024 where you can hack, steal, sneak, build, and fight your way to the top. The sandbox is ever-changing and random, so the replayability is super high. You’ll also be able to customise your weapons and gadgets in this roguelike adventure. Thankfully, there’s a clear plotline to follow, which is overthrowing a corrupt president and taking control of the whole country. You can expect great modes, such as:
- LAN Co-op.
- Solo mode.
- Online PvP.
- Online Co-op.
- Split Screen PvP.
#6: Baldur’s Gate 3
Baldur’s Gate 3 is already available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, and yet, it’s still touted as one of the top 10 co-op games of 2024. It offers a huge sandbox, plus, you can tweak your character using the extensive range of customisation options available. Heck, you can also choose between classes such as Bard, Rogue, Warlock, Barbarian, Cleric, Fighter, Druid, Paladin, and Ranger. If you like being on the front lines, Barbarian is the ideal class for you. However, gamers who prefer to strike down their enemies from a distance will enjoy being a Warlock.
#7: Remnant 2
Remnant 2 is a survival shooter game that lets you fight monsters and deadly bosses with god-like powers. You can solo the game or play with two other friends online, since there’s no split-screen mode. Combat feels rushed, encouraging you to keep shooting rather than defending from the onslaught of attacks. To fit the bleak outlook of the sandbox, you have access to weapons straight from the mind of a madman.
Some weapons fire shockwaves, others poison foes, and a few of them improve the damage of your melee attacks. That said, the most impressive feature of Remnant 2 is its dynamic map, which features branching quest lines and loot. So, repeating levels is never boring.
#8: Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is a third-shooter where you fight off alien invasions and destroy Tyranid nests. You’re part of a militaristic society where war is the order of the day, so strength is the best measure of character. Fortunately, players control a seasoned Space Marine, so this isn’t a survival game. Rather, you embody the Imperium’s strength and cunning, so cracking skills while carrying big guns is as easy as breathing.
We got a glimpse at the combat and healing system in the official demo and it’s fast-paced and varied. The protagonist effortlessly switched between melee attacks and guns depending on enemy type and ammo capacity. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marines 2 will be out on September 9, 2024.
#9: Killing Floor 3
Killing Floor 3 is set in 2091, where you control a rebel who aims to overthrow Horzine, a megacorp that controls Zeds. Zeds are bioengineered monsters who are loyal to their masters to a fault. Now, your job is to survive these enemies while unlocking more abilities and support. It’s an intense FPS where you fight hordes of enemies followed by a boss.
To ease up on the pressure, the game allows you to team up with five other teammates online. The local co-op mode pales in comparison to the online co-op mode because your companions will be controlled by AIs. Killing Floor 3 may eventually earn its place on this list of co-op games of 2024, but our money is in 2025.
#10: Destiny 2: The Final Shape
Destiny 2: The Final Shape is a huge DLC that’ll introduce a new storyline, more classes and powers, and a beautiful sandbox. It’ll be available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC upon launch, and judging by the base game’s success, it’ll secure its place as one of the best co-op games of 2024. You’ll explore locations such as the Pale Heart and it’s up to players to uncover its various secrets. As is the norm with Destiny 2, locations are fictional and fantastical.
Our Final Say: None of These Co-Op Games of 2024 Is a Bad Choice
We’re optimistic and can picture a future where none of the co-op games of 2024 above is a bad choice. After all, the majority of the games above haven’t been released yet. However, pending their release dates, you can check out titles such as Baldur’s Gate 3 and Remnant 2. You’ll fight untold horrors in both games but Baldur’s Gate 3 is an isometric title, which means characters, including the protagonist, are viewed from the top. On the other hand, Remnant 2 is a third-person shooter, so it uses an off-shoulder camera instead.
