Xiaomi 14 Ultra Specs: Similarities
Similar to its predecessors Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, the newest and strongest chip.
The display specifications mirror those of the 14 Pro, namely a 6.73-inch AMOLED display with a 3,200 x 1,440 pixels resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, 3,000 nits peak brightness, and support for HDR10+. Besides, the smartphone is 9.2mm thick, and weigh 220 grams.
The whole device is IP-68 rated for dust and water resistance. Xiaomi referred to the protective glass covering the display as Shield Glass, boasting a 10x increase in drop resistance while maintaining superior clarity. The screen corners feature gentle curvature on all edges, a feature Xiaomi dubs the All Around Liquid display.
For storage options, Xiaomi 14 Ultra provides 3 choices: 12GB RAM + 256GB storage, 16GB RAM + 512GB storage, and 16GB RAM + 1TB storage. Improved cooling is facilitated by a vapour cooling chamber that is three times larger. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra operates on Android 14 with the HyperOS.

Xiaomi 14 Ultra Specs: Differences
Camera
Speaking of the differences, Xiaomi 14 Ultra’s camera is definitely the first to be raised up.
Xiaomi have maintained the quad-camera setup with 50MP lenses, including 0.5x, 1x, 3.2x, and 5x zoom capabilities, while also retaining much of the hardware. The primary camera still features a 1-inch type sensor, now equipped with the latest Sony LYT-900 imager, boasting enhanced design and faster readout capabilities. Although the lens remains technically a dual-aperture 23mm unit, it now offers a wider aperture range from f/1.63 to f/4.0, allowing for up to 136% more light intake compared to the f/1.9 – f/4.0 lens on the 13 Ultra.

In any case, the primary camera has the capability to capture Ultra RAW images with extensive computational enhancements, which are stored in DNG format, preserving complete image data.
The telephoto setup comprises a 3.2x 75mm f/1.8 standard lens and a 5x 120mm f/2.5 periscope lens, both utilising the same 1/2.5-inch Sony IMX858 sensor as the 12mm f/1.8 ultrawide lens. The periscope lens has been upgraded from an f/3.0 to an f/2.5 aperture.
Xiaomi provided a comparison of the light-gathering capabilities of the 14 Ultra’s telephoto lens with that of the iPhone 15 Pro series, revealing that the 120mm f/2.5 lens captures 196% more light than the Pro Max and an astonishing 474% more than the Pro. Additionally, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra boasts AI-powered 30x Ultra Zoom, which Xiaomi claimed outperforms competitors, supported by various comparisons showcased during the Ultra’s presentation.
What’s particularly notable is the close focusing capabilities of both zoom lenses — the 75mm can capture subjects as close as 10cm, while the 120mm lens focuses from a distance of 30cm. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra offers video specifications on par with the Galaxy S24 Ultra, including 4K video recording at both 60fps and 120fps (Limited to the main camera), as well as 8K video recording.
Battery
The Xiaomi 14 Ultra holds an edge over the 14 Pro in battery capacity, boasting a rating of 5,300mAh compared to the Pro’s 4,880mAh. However, it’s noteworthy that the maximum fast charging speed for the 14 Ultra is listed at 90W, slightly lower than the 120W capacity of the 14 Pro. Additionally, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra also supports rapid wireless charging at speeds of up to 80W.
