The PS5 is an excellent game console that brings radical features to your shelves. To build an equivalent gaming PC, you’ll have to buy at least an RTX 2060 Ti GPU, which costs around £300. That’s already half the price of a new PS5, so the fact that you still have to purchase the cooling, CPU, and RAM units separately makes gamers pause in confusion.

The PS5 is mass-produced, so prices are naturally competitive. Moving forward, many PS5 games have been released, and there are many more coming out. Our article focuses on eight new games coming to the console, and they’re by far the most gorgeous games for next-gen consoles. Besides the beautiful graphics, these titles also boast new game mechanics that we’re looking forward to trying out.

The PS5 is a capable console that’s fast, powerful, and silent. So, it’s great to see that it won’t just gather dust on your shelf because of these upcoming games. This list doesn’t necessarily mention PS5 exclusives alone.

#1: Lords of the Fallen | October 13, 2023
The Lords of the Fallen is an action RPG that’ll be released in October, and it’s a Souls-like game. Enemies are tough, the sandbox is harsh, and the weapon system is diverse. According to the lore, you’re trying to thwart the resurrection of the demon God Adyr. So, it’s literally a gripping tale of the battles between light and dark forces.
For one, the demon God, Adyr, was a tyrant who had ruled cruelly before he was usurped and defeated. On your way through the huge, semi-open world of the Lords of Fallen, you’ll battle colossal enemies and beasts. Lastly, we’re looking forward to the eldritch horrors of the game — hopefully, the designers will pull out all the stops.

#2: Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 | October 20, 2023
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is beautiful. In this sequel, Peter Parker and Miles Morales will fight villains like Venom and Kraven the Hunter. In the movie, Peter Parker initially owns the Venom symbiote and uses it to pommel opponents. However, due to the negative effects of the suit on his mind, he had to forcefully eject it from his body. The video game may feature the same storyline, but to be true to the previous Spider-Man games, we’re expecting plot twists.
We’re also expecting the game to be 30 hours long, so players can expect tons of new content. Heck, a few of the staff at Player.com didn’t like Spider-Man: Miles Morales because it was too short. That’s how great the Spider-Man games have become. However, we’ve got many questions, but the important ones are:
- Is Peter Parker going to die?
- Will Harry Osborn become the Green Goblin or Venom?
- Where’s Black Cat, Peter Parker’s elusive flame?
#3: Alan Wake II | October 27, 2023
After more than a decade, Alan Wake II is coming to all major platforms, including the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. This sequel continues the story of Alan Wake, but on next-gen consoles that have ray-tracing capabilities and fast loading times. Our impressions of the Alan Wake II demo were positive because of the game’s gorgeous lighting and tense atmosphere. So, it’s needless to say that Alan is lucky that his story will be seamlessly told using Northlight on the PS5. The game engine is the same one that brought the world of Quantum Break to life.
Moving on to the lore, our Alan Wake is still haunted by his old demons, but this time, there’s a new protagonist (Saga Anderson) that players will control. Saga is an FBI agent, so we’re excited to experience her combat prowess first-hand. After all, she has been trained by the government, which is an edge that Alan Wake doesn’t have. Consequently, we expect even more horrifying monsters and better environmental puzzles.
#4: Hollow Knight: Silksong | Late 2023 or Early 2024
The prequel to Hollow Knight: Silksong was a masterpiece. It was a 2D platform title about Hallownest, a plague-infested kingdom with tons of secrets for players to unravel. The game is similar in lore to Dead Cells, but the combat system is entirely different. You control the Knight, an insectoid warrior who’s extremely agile and nimble.

A Nail is your primary choice of weapon, and sure, it looks like an actual nail. However, there are different qualities of Nails and part of your job as a Knight is to upgrade your main weapon. There are also many other abilities to pick up along the way. For one, you’ll eventually be able to swim inside acid, fly in the air, and obliterate enemies using the power of your soul alone.
#5: Death Stranding 2 | To Be Announced
Death Stranding 2’s protagonist is still Norman Reedus, who goes by Sam in the game. It’ll be a bigger project than its predecessor, and as usual, we’re expecting many twists and turns along the way. However, besides the DNA of the first game, there’s currently no information on Death Stranding 2. To that end, Death Stranding was an explorative game that encouraged players to traverse its sandbox in a myriad of ways. Especially with tools like the retractable ladder. So, we expect the sequel to build on these features.
#6: Dragon Age: Dreadwolf | To Be Announced
Dragon Age: Dreadwolf will be a single-player experience that’ll be at least 50 hours long. It will feature a massive sandbox that’s extremely detailed, down to the dungeons. The game will be set in a fantasy world where dragons, wizards, and demi-humans exist. It’s similar to Baldur’s Gate 3, however, it’s not an isometric game. Instead, the game opts for a third-person view that lets you experience the game off of your character’s shoulders.
Moving on to the combat system, we’re expecting even more weapons, magic spells, enemies, and many other powerful abilities. Also, the developers should introduce new characters into the mix, plus new plot twists. Hopefully, the crafting system will be easier and more detailed.
#7: Indiana Jones | To Be Announced
MachineGames, the studio behind the newer Wolfenstein games, is making a new game that’s called Indiana Jones. It’s about time the likes of the Uncharted and Tomb Raider game series got some competition. The Indiana Jones movies are great adventure flicks, so playing a game adaptation should be interesting. We’re looking forward to the animations for Indiana Jones’s whip, an iconic weapon that has saved his life on countless occasions. In the 30-second teaser, we saw his camera, gun, whip, and camera, while some pleasant music in the background.
#8: Project 007 | To Be Announced
Project 007 is being developed by the studio behind Hitman, and this time, it’ll be an entirely new character with a distinct storyline and background. We expect to drive fast cars that are equipped with killer features like rocket launchers. Also, the music and soundtrack are expected to be terrific, but when have the James Bond movies ever played bad music? There’ll obviously be guns, and since the developers have perfected Hitman as a stealth and action game, Project 007 should feature a sleek combat system. One, where James Bond will shine as a world-class spy.

Frequently Asked Questions
How Many Games Can Gamers Play on the PS5?
There are currently more than 500 games available for gamers to enjoy on the PS5. This console is compatible with PS4 games, which is why there are so many titles available already. There are also tons of titles in development already, so that figure is only going to rise like yeast.
Can You Play PS3 Games on the PS5?
No, you can’t play PS3 games on the PS5 because its hardware architecture is far too different. The PS4 has the closest design to the PS5’s hardware, so games play even without a software update. It’s all a breezy process, really. If you want full backwards compatibility, you should consider picking up the Xbox Series X. On the other hand, a more budget-friendly option is the Xbox Series S.
What Is the Top 1 PS5 Game?
The number-one PS5 game is Fortnite because of its free-to-play nature. Unlike games like God of War Ragnarok or Elden Ring, you don’t have to purchase the game. Fortnite is a shooter game with a distinct Battle Royal mode. For one, players will enjoy a free-form building system that’s unlike anything else in other shooter games like Call of Duty: Warzone. The world of Fortnite is also vivid instead of being militaristic like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. That point aside, everything from grenades and rocket launchers, to bats and firearms feels great.
