Now that Persona 5 has received its 7th spin-off title, players are wondering if it’s time to retire the series and await Persona 6. We’re pretty sure Atlus Games agrees with this as well since they had already closed off the story with P5 Strikers, and Persona 5 Tactica was to help bridge the wait for players until Persona 6. So today’s article is all about whether Persona 5 Tactica is the last Persona game or will we be seeing more spin-offs still?

Is Persona 5 Tactica the Last Persona 5 Game?
There are two parts to cover in this article. The first is whether Persona 5 Tactica is the last Persona game, and if not, the second will be whether there will be more games from the Persona 5 series. And will we get Persona 6?
The answer to the first part is no, Persona Tactica is not the last Persona game. We already have confirmation from Atlus Games that Persona 6 is in the works; However, we don’t have a confirmed release date just yet. It is projected to be released somewhere in late 2025 or maybe early 2026, depending on how fast development is completed. We’ll talk about this further ahead.
Now, this leads us to the second question: Was Persona 5 Tactica the last spin-off for the Persona 5 universe? Bear in mind that the original game, Persona 5, was released in September 2016, so it’s been seven whole years of just spin-offs. The answer to this question is yes, Persona 5 Tactica is the last Persona game for the P5 universe, and we won’t be seeing any more Persona 5 spin-offs. While there is still the mobile spin-off, Persona 5 X, it was actually released in March 2023 but has not reached Western servers yet.

Sneak Peak Into Persona 6’s Development
You now know that the next instalment in the Persona universe is going to be Persona 6. Don’t hold your breath for it, though, since according to Persona insider MbKKssTBhz5, the game is likely going to be released in 2026.
Another exciting piece of information we get from this is that not only is Atlus Games working on Persona 6, but they are simultaneously working on Persona 3 Reload. This will be a remake of Persona 3, a game that was released in 2006 for PlayStation 4 and older consoles. It definitely leads us to believe that there is still a lot in store for Persona fans as the ever-expanding universe brings in new content.
Is Persona 5 X Yet To Be Released?
You saw us mention another Persona 5 game above, the mobile version of the P5 universe and might be wondering why you can’t play it. In case you missed it, Persona 5 X was actually released in March 2023, but the game only went live in China. This is probably because the game was developed and published by Black Wings Game Studios and Perfect World Games, not the usual Atlus Games and P Studios, like all the other Persona 5 games.
Don’t worry, though, as Atlus did give the go-ahead for them to publish the game, so it’s a totally legal game. However, whether or not it’s going to come to Western servers, we can’t say for sure yet. It won’t bring any story-changing content to the Persona 5 universe, though, so you can rest assured you’re not missing out on pivotal information. But it does confirm the fact that Persona 5 Tactica is the last Persona game for the P5 universe.

The Takeaway
This might be a breath of fresh air for Persona fans who were desperately awaiting new content and further progression into the story of the Phantom Thieves. Since Persona 5 Tactica is the last Persona game before Persona 6, we can now expect Atlus to shift their whole focus onto Persona 6 and any other games they might be working on. Keep your eye out for any news or leaks regarding the game as we get closer to the release date.
