Fields of Mistria Legendary Fish Guide: How and Where to Catch the 4 Rare Fish

Fishing in Fields of Mistria offers a relaxing way to spend time while working towards completing your Fish Wing collection in the Museum. However, collecting all the fish, especially the elusive Legendary Fish, requires a fair amount of dedication, skill, and a bit of luck.

For starters, before you can attempt to catch Legendary Fish, you need to meet several requirements:

• Fishing Skill Level 30: You won’t be able to catch Legendary Fish until you’ve maxed out your Fishing Skill.
• Legendary Perk: Purchase the Legendary Perk for 80 Essence from Caldarus’ Statue on your farm. This perk allows Legendary Fish to spawn.
• Fishing Notification: At the start of a day, you’ll receive an in-game notification if a Legendary Fish is nearby. The notification appears under the calendar date. If you don’t see the message, the Legendary Fish hasn’t spawned that day.

The Basics of Fishing in Fields of Mistria

Fishing in Fields of Mistria involves several factors, including the type of water, the fish’s shadow size, and the weather. While most fish are seasonally available, Legendary Fish are a special challenge. You’ll need to fish across different areas of the game, upgrading your Fishing Rod and skills to improve your chances of success.

As highlighted above, to have any hope of catching Legendary Fish, you’ll need to hit Level 30 in Fishing. The best way to level up is by consistently fishing and diving. There’s no mini-game involved in fishing, so as long as you time your button presses correctly, you’ll reel in whatever bites. Keep an eye out for these perks that will help you progress faster:

• Weedline Watcher (Tier 1): Reduces the likelihood of catching junk. Costs 15 Essence.
• Appealing Reeling (Tier 1): Attracts fish from a greater range. Costs 10 Essence.
• Perfect Catch (Tier 2): Increases the appearance of uncommon and rare fish. Costs 40 Essence.

Upgrading your Fishing Rod is also highly recommended. Although you can catch Legendary Fish with basic rods, the Silver Fishing Rod allows you to cast farther, making it much more effective.

Legendary Fish in Fields of Mistria

In Fields of Mistria, each season hosts one specific Legendary Fish, with distinct spawn conditions and locations. Listed below are where and how to catch the four Legendary Fish in Fields of Mistria:

1) Cherry Fish

• Season: Spring
• Weather: Windy (Cherry Blossoms)
• Shadow Size: Small
• Location: The Eastern Road (Ponds)

Cherry Fish appears in Spring during Windy weather, marked by cherry blossoms blowing across the screen. Look for it in the ponds at the southern half of The Eastern Road, just over the bridge. To improve your chances, focus on small fish shadows. Refresh the area by leaving and reentering if necessary.

2) Lightning Fish

• Season: Summer
• Weather: Storm
• Shadow Size: Medium
• Location: The Narrows (Rivers)

Lightning Fish is a Summer fish that only spawns during storms. You’ll find it in rivers, with the best spot being the one under the bridge in The Narrows. Since rivers cover multiple areas in Mistria, including The Eastern Road and Mistria Town, you might need to check several locations before spotting the right medium-sized shadow.

3) Leaf Fish

• Season: Fall
• Weather: Windy (Leaves)
• Shadow Size: Small
• Location: The Eastern Road (River)

Leaf Fish can be found in the river on The Eastern Road during Windy Fall days. The river is at the bridge on The Eastern Road, a key location from one of the story quests. Keep an eye out for small shadows and check different locations if needed. You’re more likely to see multiple Windy days in the Fall, increasing your chances of capturing the elusive fish in Fields of Mistria.

4) Snow Fish

• Season: Winter
• Weather: Snow
• Shadow Size: Medium
• Location: The Beach

Snow Fish is a Winter-exclusive fish that appears on snowy days at The Beach. Unlike other Legendary Fish in Fields of Mistria, it spawns in the ocean, so pick a spot along the shoreline and start fishing. The key is to look for medium-sized shadows in the water. Don’t forget about the small island to the west, which might also be a good fishing spot. You can also refresh the ocean by entering and exiting the Tackle Shop.

Parting Notes

Once you’ve caught a Legendary Fish, the only thing left to do is donate it to the Museum. Unlike other fish, you can’t sell Legendary Fish or keep them in fish tanks. Completing the Museum’s Fish Wing by donating all four Legendary Fish in Fields of Mistria will earn you a special reward, including a piece of furniture and a treasure box. The reward improves with the number of Fish Wing sets you complete, so it’s worth the effort.
