Hi-Fi RUSH has impressed many players with its fresh gameplay. But it can be challenging! Here are 10 tips to make your life in-game a little easier!

In Hi-Fi RUSH, you take control of Chai, who’s a wanna-be rock star. He’s taking part in an experiment but something goes wrong: He suddenly has his music player implanted in his chest. The people responsible for the experiment see him as a “Defect” and want to get rid of Chai.
Fortunately, Chai gains some impressive skills thanks to this accident. He can feel the rhythm of the world around him and his new arm can turn into a weapon. Chai will need it. With the player’s help, Chai needs to survive and find answers to all the questions he has.
Along the way, he meets some unusual characters which will also help him along the path. The game has some impressive tutorials, but you may need some extra tips to get through the game without losing your mind.

10 Awesome Hi-Fi RUSH Tips: Here’s How to Beat the Game without Missing a Beat
1. Smash Everything

You can destroy containers with your weapon. Just attack them and they’ll break open. You’ll find extra gears and sometimes other stuff inside. The game rewards you to smash whatever you can smash. The extra gears will come in handy, especially on higher difficulty levels.
2. Pick up All Collectibles
In many games collectibles are only good for achievements and can be ignored. Not so in Hi-Fi RUSH. Collectibles can be incredibly useful because they let you upgrade Chai. Some collectibles trigger extra NPC encounters, and others are just pretty fun. Yes, you’ll have to go out of your way to find all collectibles, but they are worth it.
A note: You cannot collect every single collectible in just one playthrough. If you are a completionist, you’ll have to play Hi-Fi RUSH more than once to unlock everything.
3. Take a Look Around

Despite the name Hi-Fi RUSH isn’t a game that rewards rushing through its content. As mentioned, collectibles are often out of the way. But you’ll also find extra stuff to smash on platforms and in hidden corners. If there’s a corner that can be explored, it’s worth doing so. Hi-Fi RUSH isn’t a game that makes you climb up a structure to find nothing at all. If you have to put some effort into it, you can be sure the game will reward you with something.

4. Don’t Ignore Dodging
Keeping your combat rating up is important if you want to achieve high scores. This can be challenging sometimes, especially when there are no nearby enemies to attack. You don’t need to give up on your combat rating in cases like that! Just dodge to the beat because this will also keep your combat rating up.
It always is a good idea to dodge the beat even if you aren’t worried about your scores. Some bosses hit hard and you can only avoid their attack if you dodge properly. It’s a good idea to practise this before you need it.
5. Also Don’t Ignore Parrying
Parrying isn’t available right from the start. You only learn it during Level 3 in a tutorial. This makes it easy to ignore. After all you survived until then without parrying, right? Yes, but parrying makes life easier, especially if you play on a harder difficulty.
A well-executed parry will reflect the damage back to your attacker which is a great method to make them go down faster. Take your time and practise how to parry. Chai will thank you in later levels.
6. Make Use of the Training Room
Once you unlock the training room, you should make use of it. It’s there for a reason. You can use the training room to practise dodging and parrying. It is also a safe place to learn how to create powerful combos. The training room is a better place to learn these things than in front of a powerful boss who doesn’t care about what you know.
7. Problems with Lagging? Check the Latency Tool

It may not look like it, but Hi-Fi RUSH is pretty demanding. It can eat up your computer’s resources quickly. This can lead to lag and stuttering. In a rhythm game, that’s not good. If you feel that the game isn’t running as smoothly as it could, go into the settings and run the latency tool. This will help you to figure out whether you need to adjust graphic settings.
8. Unlock Friends and Let Them Help
As you advance, you’re unlocking friends/allies that can help you. Each of them has skills that come in handy in different situations. Some can even help you to get into areas that would otherwise be inaccessible. These allies are there for a reason, so make sure you use them.

9. Keep an Eye on Your Health Bar

It’s easy to forget looking at your health bar in the heat of battle, but it’s one thing you should keep your eyes on. You don’t want to run into a situation where you’re close to winning but end up losing because you forgot to check your health. All it takes is some bad luck or an expected lag.
Speaking of health: Buy health upgrades and the health tank as soon as you can afford them. Your health can be increased by collecting life gauge pieces or buying an upgrade directly for gears.
10. You Can Adjust Difficulty Any Time
If you started on a high difficulty level because you were confident you could handle it, you might run into situations that are a little too difficult. You don’t have to give up and start anew. You can just go into the settings menu and adjust the difficulty. There’s nothing to be ashamed about. The game is supposed to be fun, and if you are stuck, don’t torture yourself. Make the game easier, get past the challenge, and then put the difficulty back up!
