Continuing our theme of an EA footballing day, EA Sports College Football 25 is right around the corner, as it is scheduled to drop worldwide tomorrow, July 19, or you may have even gotten access to the game two days before on July 16 if you pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition.
Nevertheless, EA Sports College Football 25 is the highly anticipated return of the “NCAA Football” video game series, which has been on hiatus since the release of NCAA Football 14 in 2013 due to legal and financial issues related to college athletes’ likenesses. To summarise, former UCLA basketball player Ed O’Bannon filed a lawsuit arguing that EA Sports, the NCAA, and the Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC) profited from college athletes’ likenesses without compensating them.
The case ended with a settlement of around $40 million, and the NCAA announced it would not renew its licensing agreement with EA Sports. However, after letting the fire pass by a decade later, EA announced EA Sports College Football 25, the return of the passionate pageantry and details that make college football adored by many.

Road to Glory
The career mode, Road to Glory, is returning to EA Sports College Football 25 with deep customisation options and an engaging narrative experience to allow players to create and develop their custom athlete, navigating the journey from high school recruit to college football star.
For starters, when you load up the mode, you can choose your characters between four levels: Elite (5-star recruit, 79 overall ratings), Blue Chip (4-star, 75 rating), Contributor (3-star, 67 rating) and Underdog (2-star, 60 rating).
After selecting your level, you can choose a player archetype depending on your position. Once you are done customising your character, you will begin your journey by going through practice drills, skill points allocations and playing/sim a game. There are five agenda items each week, and you must choose where to allocate your time: Academics, Team Building, Recovery, Training and Socialising. Note that your player must maintain a 2.0 GPA to remain eligible.
Lastly, throughout the season, you will get texts from the media, coaches, teammates, classmates, academic advisers and businesses that affect those categories. Your responses are crucial as your choice will impact your skill points. For example, if you join your friends for a night out before a big game, you will lose trust points with the coach. You may even lose out on a lucrative NIL deal if you do not respond promptly.
Dynasty
The fan-favourite mode, Dynasty, also returns to EA Sports College Football 25 with a deeper roster construction, allowing players to manage and build their college football program over multiple seasons. As you may have already known, the three archetypes for coaches are Motivator, Tactician and Recruiter.
To summarise, if you prioritise the recruiting option, you may have a lot to work with. For example, you will control everything from who you offer scholarships to when players visit your campus to how you interact with them. If you prioritise the mental aspect of the game, you can select the “Simple” option at the beginning of the Dynasty to let the CPU handle recruiting automatically.
Lastly, besides players, you can also fire your assistant coaches. It is a brand new addition, as you can fire coaches or hire replacements in the ensuing weeks during bowl season. However, one criticism of the game mode is that there is no music but a drumline playing.
Ultimate Team and Road to CPF

Moving from single-player enjoyment to multiplayer, EA Sports College Football 25 provides an Ultimate Team, where you can build a team like in EA Sports FC and face players online. It is where the game prioritises its microtransactions.
As for the Road to CPF, it is a three-minute online matchup feature, mirroring a regular season. As you achieve victory or suffer defeat, your performance will affect the rankings and the College Football Playoff party.

Parting Thoughts
EA Sports College Football 25 will definitely make a significant and nostalgic impact by bringing back a cherished franchise with modern enhancements and a fresh approach.
Although EA has to be extremely careful when securing College Football 25 real players for their game, with players such as Arch Manning refusing, 10,000 real players in the game is still a massive roster for players to enjoy.
