With players all over the world eagerly waiting for news on Blue Protocol’s Western launch, it’s about time Bandai Namco and Amazon Games revealed the Blue Protocol regions they’ll be catering to. We already know that developers have a 2024 release date in mind, so as we draw closer, more and more details are revealed. Let’s see what fortunate regions will get access to the game in 2024.

What Blue Protocol Regions Are Included in the Western Release?
The Western release for Bandai Namco’s latest title will include five regions:
- North America
- South America
- Australia
- New Zealand
- Western Europe
These will be the Blue Protocol regions that have been announced for the 2024 Western release of the game. While more might be added later on, the developers have confirmed these five so players from these countries can get their wallets ready to buy the game.
It should be noted, though, that we still don’t have confirmation on the exact release date for Blue Protocol. However, with it having been released in June for Japan, we can assume it will be somewhere around that time. Until then, keep your eyes peeled for a closed beta or any gameplay trailer Amazon Games might treat us to.
Will There Be Cross-Play Between Blue Protocol Regions?
This question has been asked quite frequently, and Amazon Games has said that the feature is not yet present within the game and won’t be there when it is launched. So, for those of you hoping to play with your friends on the Japanese server, it will have to wait.
The bright side to this is that Bandai Namco and Amazon Games mentioned that adding cross-play and cross-progression to the game is in the works and will eventually become a feature. So don’t give up on the idea of cross-play between Blue Protocol regions; We just have to be patient.

Blue Protocol Story and Gameplay
Now that you’ve gotten an idea of the new Blue Protocol regions the game will be coming to, it’s a great time to start understanding the game better. Especially since the game is free-to-play and has a T-rating, it’s going to be played by an enormous amount of players. This is where we tell you the basic plot of the game to help you settle in faster and get the hang of the game before your competitors.

The story of Blue Protocol places you 2,000 years in the future, where the world has started to collapse due to over-usage and overreliance on technology. The area where players will start is called Regnas, and littered all around Regnas are devious foes and fierce bosses that you must defeat. The game can be played entirely solo (If you’re skilled enough), but having some companions tag along really elevates the fun of it.
Like any MMORPG, you’ll have the choice of building your own character at the start of the game, choosing its appearance, model, and, most importantly, class. There will be five classes on release, each catering to a different playstyle. Whether you like a hack-and-slash playstyle or are more fond of blasting your enemies with magic from afar, Blue Protocol has a class fit for everyone. As you progress further, you’ll need to party up with teammates to defeat raids and dungeons to quickly upgrade your character and get stronger.
Will Different Blue Protocol Regions Have Different Gameplay?
Amazon Games has confirmed that they won’t be changing anything that will impact the storyline or gameplay of the game since that would be taking away the game in its essence. However, they have made some censorship changes to the game before releasing it to the West, and that is for a few reasons.
Firstly, censorship regulations in the West are not as lax as they are in Japan. Something that is acceptable in Japan may not be acceptable in the Western regions, so they were required to use censorship. Secondly, they needed to localise and tailor the game a bit towards the Western community, especially the younger players, since it is an anime game. To achieve a T-rating, they had to tone down some aspects of the game that might be perceived as obscene.
Regardless of the changes they made, the franchise lead at Amazon Games, Mike Zadogorjny, has stated that these changes will in no way affect your gameplay, and all Blue Protocol regions will receive the same exciting gameplay as the others.
