You should be no stranger to puzzles if you’ve been playing Hogwarts Legacy for long enough. With a wide arsenal of spells at your disposal, the game often expects you to exercise your intellect and brainstorm methods that’ll get you past a certain obstacle. Whether that’s in the shape of a lock or an array of items you’d need to sort with Levioso, there are a tonne of different ways the game tests your problem-solving skills throughout your Hogwarts Legacy playthrough.
One such puzzle that’s left several players flabbergasted is the Battlements. The Battlements is a castle you’re tasked with climbing once you talk to Natty at Falbarton Castle. At first glance, it’s a relatively easy climb, and you’ll find yourself soaring ahead without much impediment. However, soon enough, you’ll probably find yourself stumped as you reach a halt at a seemingly impassable wall.
You’ll have to rack your brain a little if you plan on getting past the impasse. Don’t worry if you find yourself stuck, though, as this quick guide will take you through what you need to do in order to climb the Battlements.
The Trick to Climbing Up the Battlements
You can’t use your broomstick to cross the impasse, so you’ll have to come up with another way. Look to your left until you see the large, highlighted box stuck behind the gate. You can open the gate by hitting the lever with Depulso. Next, use Accio to draw the box toward yourself and raise it against the wall using Wingardium Leviosa.
Finally, you can mantle onto the box and mantle again as the cliff will be just within reach.
Use Levioso for PC
Another route you could go for if you’re playing on a PC and finding it difficult to place the box in the right position is to stand on top of the box as you use Levioso. This will help you to hold the box in place as you climb on top of it; Just be careful not to fall off.
Note: Leviosa allows you to hold objects in the air without keeping the spell cast, while Wingardium Leviosa only provides temporary levitation.
Once you’re done with these battlements, the remainder of the High Keep mission should be a walk in the park. You may find some difficulty during the spell selection, but you’ll get the hang of it in a couple of tries.
Frequently Asked Questions
How to Learn Levioso?
You need the Wingardium Levioso spell to climb the Battlements. Fortunately, Levioso is one of the first spells you learn in Hogwarts Legacy, and it’s part of the main storyline. All you need to do is attend the first Defense Against The Dark Arts class and duel against Sebastian. You’ll be taught how to cast Levioso, and upon winning the duel, you’ll be able to use it on all your adventures going forward.
How to Learn Depulso?
Just like Levioso, you can acquire Depulso through the main storyline. However, you’ll have to progress a little further before you can unlock its quest. Upon completing the Jackdaw’s Rest main quest, you’ll trigger Professor Sharps First Assignment. Simply go through the steps in the quest, and Professor Sharp will teach you the Depulso spell once you complete it.
What Do You Get for Completing the Battlements?
Climbing the Battlements is just a small but integral part of the High Keep quest. Climbing the Battlements triggers a cutscene where Highwing the Hippogriff breaks out of the castle, and several dark wizards try to ground it by firing a bunch of spells at it. Once you’re at the top, you’ll meet a bunch of poachers. Defeat them and continue onwards to finish the final parts of the High Keep quest.
