Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is out, and it has already received a positive reception from the gaming industry. Unlike the vanilla game, this DLC is a spy-thriller that lets players solve the mysteries behind scandals, shattered loyalties, and evil political schemes. The game introduces new characters, skills, and a spy-oriented narrative.

All events of this expansion take place in Night City, a megalopolis where evil and power struggles are rampant. You can see that in the many implants that V uses. Before the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel is released, gamers can enjoy its expansion.
The expansion costs less than £30, which is about half the price of the original game.

All Four Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty Endings
Funnily enough, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty has four endings. You’ll get different endings depending on which dialogue options you choose. However, this doesn’t mean you should be on edge every time the game prompts you to dialogue with the other characters. Rather, just be watchful of the options you pick during the two missions: Firestarter and Killing Moon.

To that end, we’ve gone through the liberty (We love puns at Player.com) of breaking down all four endings. You’ll know which dialogue options you need to choose to get each outcome. So, beware of spoilers, because this section is chock-full of them.
Ending #1: King of Wands
To get the King of Wands ending, you must kill Reeds in the Killing Moon mission. It all starts with the Firestarter mission, where you’re given the choice to rescue Songbird or help Reed capture her. In this scenario, you should help Songbird so you can unlock the Killing Moon mission. At the end of the mission, you’ll have to choose between killing Reed and letting Songbird escape or handing her over to the NUSA.
The last dialogue option you must choose to get this ending is “Reed, dammit!” Be sure to pick up Pariah, Reed’s iconic pistol, after killing him during the slow-mo sequence. While this ending fits V’s philosophies, there are consequences for killing Reed. The consequence is that you get no cure for the degradation that V suffers from.
Ending #2: King of Swords
The best way to get this outcome is by handing Songbird over to Reed after her confession that there’s no cure for V. For one, you should let Songbird escape in Firestarter to unlock the Killing Moon mission. Reed will confront you about your reasons for letting Songbird escape his clutches before, so you’ll inform him that Songbird lied about the cure. Shortly after this chat, Reed will take Songbird inside a Federal Intelligence Agency (FIA) AV for the operation. This is a pacifistic and selfish ending so don’t expect a gunfight. After all, it’s not like the boss fights in Atomic Heart. It’s also one of the least evil endings in the game.

Ending #3: King of Cups
To get the King of Cups ending, you’ll have to help Reed capture Songbird in the Firestarter mission. This will unlock the mission, Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos, where V has to save Songbird from four MaxTac operators. This is then followed up with the Somewhat Damaged mission, where V will perform a mercy killing on Songbird’s behalf.
She is completely messed up mentally after harbouring rogue AIs in her mind and also after her exposure to the Blackwell. All V can do now is choose the dialogue option “Kill So Mi | OK, I’ll do it” so he can put her out of her misery. The consequence of this outcome is that V still doesn’t have a cure to show for his efforts. In fact, Myers only pays 5,000 Eurodollars at the end of the mission, Leave in Silence.
Ending #4: King of Pentacles
You’re also required to help Reed capture Songbird in Firestarter to get this outcome. However, after rescuing her from the MaxTac forces and handing her over to Reeds, you can get this ending by refusing Songbird’s wish to kill her. This time around, you should choose the dialogue option “That’s not a solution!” and afterwards, remain resolute in your decision not to spare her.
Naturally, there are consequences for sparing Songbird, especially as she even begs V to kill her. These consequences make this the worst ending in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty since Songbird becomes a shell of her former self. Also, besides the fact that Songbird becomes a literal slave to the Blackwall, Reeds doesn’t repent, and Alex is killed by Hansen. The only bright side to this conclusion is that V later gets a cure and is given a medal by Myers. It’s a dog-eat-dog principle, which is at the heart of the world of Cyberpunk 2077.
New Game Mechanics Await!
There are new game mechanics to explore in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. This includes an all-new skill tree called the Relic, which is also the cause of V’s plight. The Relic tree enhances a player’s cyberware, including passive effects. You’ll need Relic points to progress in the skill tree, and to find those points, you need to use Militech Data Terminals. Though, a third-person view is unavailable, other additions that the DLC introduces are:
- You can now lean out of the car or wield swords while riding a bike.
- Many vehicles now spot a mounted weapon.
- Netrunner hacks can help you manipulate a car’s functions.
Meet the Expansion’s New Characters
While the original game introduced many characters with deep backstories, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty adds even more notable ones. However, the seven most memorable characters in the expansion are Alex (Alena Xenakis), Ash, Kurt Hansen, Rosalind Myers, Solomon Reed, Songbird (Song So Mi), and Stella Ramos. To understand the DLC, below are the characters’ biographies.
- Ash: Ash isn’t new though she still takes the backseat in the gameplay. She’s a DJ who hosts a show on Growl FM, one of the three new radio stations in the DLC. She’s voiced by Twitch streamer, Sasha Grey, whose voice is captivating, hence her solid following on game streaming platforms.
- Kurt Hansen: He’s the ruler of the Dogtown District and the leader of Barghest. While he was a NUSA colonel in the war, he’s now a tyrant who won’t leave his post nor follow orders. Hansen runs the area’s Black Market.
- Stella Ramos: Stella Ramos is a character in the DLC that players meet on a side quest. The side quest is one hour long which is why the expansion feels like a standalone game. She helps flesh out the player’s knowledge of the Cyberpunk 2077: Edgerunners animated series.
- Rosalind Myers: She’s the President of the United States of America. Due to the machinations of her enemies, she crash-lands in Dogtown. So, she needs help from characters like V to escape the district.
- Solomon Reed: Solomon Reed is a sleeper agent in Dogtown who is V’s companion throughout the main missions. He’s also voiced by Idris Elba, so dialogue is life-like. Reed was betrayed by Songbird who left him to die in Dogtown.
- Alex (Alena Xenakis): Alex is an undercover agent in the Dogtown district who works for the Federal Intelligence Agency (FIA). She has shape-shifting abilities and her goal is to spy on the residents of Dogtown, including the leader and his smuggling operations.
- Songbird (Song So Mi): Songbird is the right hand to Rosalind Myers and the protégé of Solomon Reeds. She assigns missions to the player throughout the expansion and sure enough, she even determines its ending. So, she’s the most important character in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. Together with V, she saves Rosalind Myers after ejecting herself from the President’s vessel. She’s an experienced Netrunner and an intelligence analyst so she doesn’t have a pretty face alone.
The Replayability Is High
There are 19 main missions in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, but you won’t be able to play them all in a single playthrough because of the expansion’s multiple endings. To play all 19 missions, you need to experience all four endings of the game. There are also 14 side quests in this DLC, plus nine gigs to explore.
