From spears and swords to daggers and guns, Dead Cells is a revolutionary title that challenges players at every turn. The higher your proficiency with the weapons in Dead Cells, the higher your chances of beating your opponents. But it doesn’t make sense to master the wrong weapons which is where this article shines. We’ve broken down the best weapons in Dead Cells that players can exploit to gain an edge when tackling its dungeons.

Weapon #1: Hattori’s Katana

The Hattori Sword is a joy to use because of how swiftly its attacks are delivered. What’s more — Holding the Sword button down allows players to deal a 3-move combo in the blink of an eye. Also, the Hattori Sword makes it easy to dodge attacks while using critical attacks. You’ll be so fast, you’ll literally phase through attacks. The only drawback is that critical attacks take a long time to prepare so you’ll be vulnerable to attacks.
Weapon #2: The Flint

The Flint is an advanced Warhammer that creates a flaming trail once you smash it into the ground. It’s a heavy weapon so you can’t attack swiftly like with the Hattori Sword. Instead, you should only attack with this weapon when your opponents are inactive.
Attack only when your opponents pause between move sets. The Warhammer goes past shields and defences, making it a joy to use in Dead Cells. Keep in mind that the Flint doesn’t burn enemies, but it does inflict an oil status on enemies.
Weapon #3: The Alchemist Carbine

The Alchemist Carbine shoots projectiles that burst upon impact. Each impact also inflicts poison damage over time, making the Carbine one of the deadliest weapons in Dead Cells. Keep in mind that this is a ranged weapon with a combo rate of 1 hit every 1.1 seconds. The Alchemist Carbine is a pretty elusive weapon because it doesn’t always spawn when you play through the Toxic Sewers. So, you’ll have to play through the Toxic Sewers a couple of times before you’ll get this blueprint.
Weapon #4: The Parry Shield

The Parry Shield is useful because it deflects double the projectiles sent your way. It’s a great weapon for players who don’t like blocking attacks. Instead, it favours players who like to dodge because they have a higher tendency of parrying attacks. The best mutation for this weapon is the Armadillopack which allows players to attack with the shield in their backpack. Dead Cells differs from Ghost of Tsushima with armors like Aloy’s Armor.
So, all you have to do is roll around the battleground to parry attacks and send twice the damage back to any surrounding opponent. The window for parrying attacks is about 0.5 seconds so familiarise yourself with the different enemies and their respective move sets. If you want a weapon for crowd control, this is a great choice so don’t ignore it.
Weapon #5: The Lightning Bolt

Players will get this weapon early in the game, but it easily stands the test of time. That is, no matter how advanced a player, the Lightning Bolt always comes through even in the most difficult of situations. It’s a weapon that deals more damage the more players use it. Just hold down the attack button to deal critical damage to any opponent standing in your way. Remember that the Lightning Bolt will deal you damage once the blue lightning turns to red. It usually takes around five seconds for the Lightning Bolt to change from a blue shade to yellow and then to a red shade. The variety of magic in Dead Cells definitely reminds us of Diablo 4.
Weapon #6: The Ice Bow

The Ice Bow isn’t like conventional bows with high damage output. Instead, this bow can be used to temporarily freeze and stun enemies. This leaves opponents open to attacks, which players can take advantage of to easily defeat any monster in their way. The fun part is that players have multiple ice arrows to sabotage the whole battlefield. Just remember that the ice arrows aren’t infinite and you’ll need to defeat enemies with arrows stuck in them to refill your ammo.
Weapon #7: Frantic Sword

The Frantic Sword is a fantastic blade in Dead Cells because it inflicts critical hits when playing badly. In Dead Cells, it’s easy enough to play badly so, you’re guaranteed plenty of chances to test the sword out. You can clear whole levels of enemies once your health drops low enough. The funniest part is that the monsters won’t even have the chance to retaliate before they’re reduced to entrails and bones.
Weapon #8: Giant Killer

The Giant Killer isn’t the greatest weapon for players during the early stages of Dead Cells. But for the bosses and elite enemies in the game, the Giant Killer makes all the difference in the world. It’ll help you cut down elite enemies and bosses, but it’s weak against standard opponents. What’s more? Players can’t keep the Giant Killer in their backpack, so it can’t be kept aside for bosses and elite enemies alone.
Weapon #9: Gold Digger

The Gold Digger is a weapon that revolves around gold, literally forcing enemies to drop gold coins when you hit them. Then after gathering enough loot, the Gold Digger will inflict a critical hit. Seeing as gold is useful for purchasing new weapons, upgrading them, and even resetting your chosen mutations, you need all the cash flow you can get. More so as you’ll be able to purchase health items from Merchants in the stages that conclude Dead Cells.
Weapon #10: Scythe Claws

The Scythe Claws are hard to manage, but it’s hard to remember the last weapon that deals as much damage as this pair. Players will be given two claws that’ll take up their two melee weapon slots. To inflict critical damage, you have to alternate between them, kind of like fighting with two nunchucks. You can easily deal over 10,000 damage if you can find a super rare version of this weapon.
Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the Easiest Weapon in Dead Cells?
The easiest weapon to use in Dead Cells is the Beginner’s Bow. As it sounds, it’s the perfect weapon for players who aren’t used to the enemy movesets because they can attack and observe from a distance. But when you upgrade the Random Starter Bow Perk, you’ll be given bows that are tougher to master.
What’s the Hardest Boss in Dead Cells?
The Queen is most likely the Hardest Boss to defeat in all of Dead Cells. She has a diverse range of attacks for close-quarter combat and otherwise. In fact, she’ll revive you if you die before the halfway point which shows how mean this boss can get in a fight. But players who haven’t purchased the Queen and the Sea DLC won’t be able to reach her. If you’re thinking about the hardest bosses in the game, you should consider the toughest bosses in Ghost of Tsushima.
What’s the Secret Sword in Dead Cells?
The Secret Sword in Dead Cells is Serenade which is a friendly flying sword with an insatiable bloodlust. Unfortunately, it doesn’t deal the most damage. But for scenarios where players are swarmed by enemies, it’s great for crowd control. The Serenade can only be obtained from the Fatal Falls DLC.
