Minecraft Mini-games are exclusive modes within the Minecraft Legacy Console Edition. Unlike the primary survival and creative modes, these modes provide a range of diverse gameplay experiences. They can be played solo, on split-screen, online, or locally. Today, we are introducing new additions such as Color Splat, Hot-Headed Run, Miniature Golf Mini-Game, and Glide Battleship. Each mode boasts distinct mechanics and objectives. Prior to each round, players convene in a lobby, interacting with items like bows, armour, and elytra.
Mini-Game | Description |
Color Splat | Players race up a pole, land in water, place coloured wool on spots and expand their territory. |
Run | Players run through a glass tunnel with chasing lights, creating a parkour-like challenge. |
Battleship | Inspired by the board game, players guess enemy ship locations using redstone signals and observers. |
Hot-Headed | Players avoid pistons shooting up rows/columns while standing on a grid with changing redstone lamps. |

5 Brand New Minecraft Mini-Games
Now, we are going to explain to you how to build and play some new and very amazing Minecraft mini-games. Let’s begin.
1) Color Splat

Let’s kick off our exploration of mini-games with an exciting one: Color Splat. Picture a game where up to four players race and brawl their way up a central pole with a ladder. Their goal is to reach the top and leap into the water below. But it’s not just about the jump; They must also mark their landing spot with a wool piece matching their colour. With each jump, the landing area shrinks as more wool covers the space. Here’s the twist: If you land near an enemy’s colour, adjacent wool turns to your colour, encouraging daring jumps. The game continues until the water vanishes. The player with the most wool in their colour wins.
To create this game, start by digging a 7×7 hole, 2 blocks deep. Fill it with black concrete and glass for a cool effect. Add cherry wood borders and staircases for access. Fill the hole with water for landings, adding fences for aesthetics. Construct a tower on top and include beds for respawns. Place barrels with red, green, yellow, and blue wool. Extend the pole with a ladder upward (Around 26 blocks). Consider digging a perimeter and adding a floor using stone and wood. Finish with bushes for extra detail.
Color Splat is a simple, Redstone-free game. Use cyan wool for the blue player to ensure visibility. It offers a fun mix of strategy, risk-taking, and competitive spirit as players strive to conquer the colourful tower.

2) Battleship

At number two, let me introduce Battleship, a Minecraft mini-game inspired by the classic Hasbro board game. With five note blocks each, players arrange their ships. The game progresses as players take turns guessing the enemy’s ship placements by opening fence gates on a grid. Observers transmit the signal, producing a bong sound for hits and misses. The red and yellow carpet tracks are hit-and-miss. The first to sink all enemy ships wins.
Although it might seem complex at first, building this mini-game is surprisingly straightforward. Beneath the play area, you’ll find a setup of observers and iron trapdoors that are symmetrically arranged on one side. This circuit is duplicated four times, and by focusing on just one instance, you’ll uncover its core simplicity: Four chains of observer connections link both sides. Repeat this process four times, create the play platforms, ensure that fence gates match observer orientations, and position gold blocks on the observer buds. Note that blocks and carpets can be held in barrels for added convenience.
3) Hot-Headed

At number three, we have Hot-headed. In this game, players start by going underground and receiving three golden carrots each. They stand on a grid with redstone lamps on the walls. Random lanes light up every five seconds as a warning, followed by pistons shooting up rows and columns, potentially catching players off-guard. If you’re unlucky and get caught, you’ll be propelled upward and scorched by the fire above. The game continues until only one player remains victorious.
To simplify the complexity of redstone, let’s break it down. First, build the central piston chamber, an 8×8 square with note blocks, repeaters, and observers facing upward. Add rails in a checkerboard pattern, and continue building layers of observers, pistons, and slabs as highlighted. Then connect Redstone to these endpoints and link droppers to hoppers with repeaters. Connect the redstone lamps on walls to activate them, and join these lines using transparent blocks and redstone. Connect the droppers’ activation lines to an Etho clock controlled by redstone torches and a lever for on/off.
Complete the setup by placing dirt in the Etho clock hoppers and items in droppers. Decorate as desired, and Hot-Headed is ready to enjoy! This intricate game challenges players’ agility and responsiveness in a fiery showdown.
4) Run

Taking the fourth spot is the mini-game known as Run. Imagine a vast glass tunnel with a line of redstone lamps along one side. In this mini-game, players take turns dashing from one end of the tunnel to the other, aiming to outpace the chasing lights representing a timer. After each run, the player can modify the course by adding or removing up to 10 blocks, making it more challenging. Over time, the tunnel evolves into a mini parkour course that challenges players to complete it within the time limit. Fail three times, and you’re out. But to prevent unfair challenges, players can try their own course. If they succeed, the challenger is eliminated; If not, they’re out. This process continues until only one player remains victorious.
To construct this mini-game (Run), start by building a glass tunnel, ideally around 26 blocks long, 7 blocks wide, and 9 blocks tall. Add a line of lamps on one side, with a separate light at the end. Create a start line using iron and black stone pressure plates.
For the Redstone setup, arrange it underneath the pressure plates, connecting them to a piston and repeaters. This setup shortens the signal to a single redstone tick. A series of repeaters with maximum delay powers observers that trigger the lamps, simulating the effect of the chasing lights. At the tunnel’s end, another piston shortens the signal to create a T flip-flop with a redstone block. This final signal determines the run’s success.
5) Miniature Golf

The last Minecraft mini-game on our list is Miniature Golf, a delightful game that can be enjoyed alone or with friends. The objective mirrors real-life golf: To guide the ball into the hole using as few throws as possible. In Minecraft, this involves tossing blocks along ice paths. Ice boosts block movement, with snowballs closely resembling golf balls in behaviour.
Your task is to guide the block into the hole with minimal throwing. After a toss, you throw from where it lands, provided it’s within bounds. Enhance the experience with a thoughtfully designed course, potentially adhering to a theme. Standard courses encompass 18 holes, each assigned a par score. Scoring below par nets a birdie, while Sub-par scores translate to an eagle or albatross. Exceeding par yields a bogey. Achieving a hole-in-one earns you an ace.
Various obstacles, such as slopes, bridges, and water flows, introduce complexity and strategy to the game. Water acts as a boundary, offering shortcut options. Bridges, which are challenging to navigate, make course completion demanding.
