What Is Fibbage?
Fibbage is a trivia party game created by the same developers as You Don’t Know Jack — a game in that players choose a correct answer, win money and select a category for the next question.

While Fibbage is more or less the same, the foundation is different in that it focuses on lying and fooling other players with your lies, avoiding theirs, and finding the outrageous truth within the answers.
What Is the Game Concept of Fibbage?
Fibbage is a relatively simple game and concept to understand. It takes inspiration from the game “Balderdash”, in which players write decoy answers to trivia questions to trick the other players into picking them.
In Fibbage, after a round commences, a statement will pop up on the screen with a missing word, and you are then required to supply an incorrect answer or lies to fool your friends into guessing it.

Once everyone has locked in, the game will display the statement and all the answers submitted for you to decide. You will get points if you choose the correct answer and no points for an incorrect answer. The correct answer can never be another player, as the game will alert them as too similar to the truth. Another fun aspect of the game is that if somebody else chooses your answer, you will earn points for your successful lie.
What Are the Game Rules of Fibbage?
Fibbage has a standard set of game rules to follow. Firstly, each game consists of three rounds. The first two rounds are regular rounds with several questions and a final round with only one. Each question begins with one of the players selecting a category, and every question consists of an unusual fact with a missing word or phrase. The players then utilise their lying skills and type in an incorrect answer. Afterwards, do your best to find the correct answer and avoid the lies made by the other players.

Secondly, Fibbage has a standardised point system. In the first round, players who find the correct answer gain 1000 points, and players who successfully tempt others to choose their lies gain 500 points for each. For round two, the points double, with 2000 points for the truth and 1000 for the lies. Following the simple pattern, the points triple in the final round, with 3000 points for the correct answer and 1500 points for the lies. At the end of the game, the one with the highest number of points wins.
Lastly, there are game rules that help players lie and prevent players from the truth. If you are not confident in your lying skill, the game provides you with a “Lie for me”, option to help you. However, players will only get half the lying points of each round. The game also has a function that prevents players from typing in the truth as the game will not let them submit, deeming the input too similar to the truth.
How to Play Fibbage?
As a gaming series in Jackbox Games, Fibbage is easy to access. The steps are simple:
- Open and Launch Fibbage on whatever platform you are using.
- After launching, you will see a four-letter code in the lobby created.
- Send the code to the friends you want to invite. You can invite 2 to 8 friends in Fibbage.
- Your friends will then head to jackbox.tv using their preferred web browser and platform and type in the code and name they want to use in the game.
- The first person to enter the lobby is the VIP — the person who starts the game once everyone has joined.
- You can start the game once “Everybody’s In”, or “Start Game”, appears on the screen.
Furthermore, the best part of Jackbox Games is that only one person needs to own the game to launch it, meaning you can invite friends without the game to play it with you.
Last but not least, for Jackbox Games, your phone or tablet is the controller while the game happens on your TV, PC or whatever platform you use to launch the game, meaning players use their mobile devices to input answers and make choices.
Which Platforms Are Fibbage Available On?
While players normally play Fibbage on PC through the Jackbox Party Pack on Steam, the game is also available on Mac, Linux, Xbox One, Android TV, Apple TV, iPad, Amazon Fire TV, PS3, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
