In a totally unexpected event, Ubisoft has released a new Invincible game titled Invincible: Guarding the Globe for iOS and Android devices and on the Amazon Store. According to Ubisoft’s blog post, this mobile game is an idle role-playing game where players build a squad of superheroes to take on the invading Flaxans, Reanimen, and Magmanites.
Although Invincible: Guarding the Globe is not the Invincible series’ first participation in video games, with Omni-Man making a crossover appearance in Mortal Kombat 1’s first DLC, this mobile game is the first game to let fans experience the full roster of the series heroes.
For example, Invincible: Guarding the Globe will ask players to join the Global Defence Agency (GDA) to conjure a super-team comprising Invincible, Atom Eve, Dupli-Kate, and other familiar members of the Guardians of the Globe, each with their personal powers and stats. To ensure complete victory in fast-paced battles, players must carefully choose their squad, upgrade, customise their equipment and strategise against the series villains.

Invincible: Guarding the Globe Comes with an Original Story
Besides the character rosters, Invincible: Guarding the Globe will receive a new campaign with an original story instead of following the events of the comics or animated series such as Invincible Season 1 on Amazon Prime. For example, the game will focus on the Guardians facing off against nefarious new criminal masterminds armed with sinister cloning technology.

As per the description given by Ubisoft: “Set in the same world as the Skybound Comics and Amazon Prime’s Invincible, Invincible: Guarding the Globe features notable characters including Invincible, Atom Eve, Omni-Man, Titan, and more. In this all-new narrative, players will become agents of the Global Defense Agency, deploying heroes to defend the world against villainy, clones, and burger meat theft.”
In addition, Ubisoft stated that the game’s narrative will play out in more chapters and each week will introduce new objectives for players, offering valuable new rewards to earn. For example, players use the currency they earn from in-game rewards at Cecil’s Recruitment Department or Sinclair’s Lab to recruit new heroes and acquire new gear and artifacts.

Is Invincible: Guarding the Globe Free-to-Play?
Yes. The new Invincible: Guarding the Globe is free to play with microtransactions inside the game for exclusive and seasonal releases. Moreover, contrary to other games, such as Genshin Impact, collecting in-game rewards in this game is much less demanding.
For instance, Invincible: Guarding the Globe lets players run multiple battles simultaneously in the background, allowing them to rack up rewards even when they’re not actively playing.
Lastly, despite Invincible: Guarding the Globe might not be the full AAA action-packed title many fans have been hoping for, it is a welcome surprise for Invincible series fans, especially with Invincible season 2 returning from its mid-season break in March. Besides Invincible: Guarding the Globe, there are many other superhero games arriving next. Let’s take a look below.
- Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League: Rocksteady Studio’s upcoming game is undoubtedly a fan-favourite, especially with the game’s focus on the seedier underbelly of the DC Universe. With superheroes rampaging thanks to the influence of Brainiac, it is time for the most infamous supervillains, such as Harley Quinn, to shine.
- Marvel’s Wolverine: Despite the struggles Sony is currently facing with their drop in stock, Insomniac Games’s Marvel’s Wolverine teaser trailer dropped to applause from the fanbase as the game will have a mature tone and likely plenty of blood to spill whenever Logan pops his trademark Adamantium claws.
- Black Panther: Lastly, Cliffhanger Games’s Black Panther single-player game has been a massive hit since its trailer was revealed in July last year, and the first mainstream black superhero will definitely dominate shop sales as the game promises to deliver a “definitive and authentic Black Panther experience” set within the fictional and technologically advanced African nation.
