New World, Monsters and Story

According to the trailer shown above, Monster Hunter Wilds transports players to the Forbidden Lands, a mysterious wilderness that is constantly evolving due to environmental changes. Players take on the role of hunters who have joined the Forbidden Lands Research Commission to investigate the resurgence of an ancient monster species. The flagship monster, Arkveld, a terrifying creature with chain-like wings, lies at the story’s main driving plot, catalysing the events that drive the narrative.

In addition to Arkveld, Monster Hunter Wilds introduces new apex predators, including the Leviathan-type Uth Duna and the Brute Wyvern, Quematrice. Uth Duna cloaks itself in water during battles, while Quematrice ignites flames by scraping its tail against the ground. Players will also encounter smaller species like the Wudwuds, a tribe of Lynians adapted to the ever-changing environment of the Forbidden Lands.

As players explore the Forbidden Lands, they will join the Avis Unit, a team tasked with traversing the region and uncovering the truth behind the so-called “White Wraith” that attacked Nata’s village. The characters players meet will include the hunter’s Palico companion, Guild-appointed Handler Alma, and mysterious child Nata, whose cryptic words lead to the formation of the Research Commission. This marks the first time in the series that the hunter is fully voiced, adding an extra layer of immersion to the experience.

Focus Mode, Wounds System and Seikret Mount

To commemorate Monster Hunter Wilds, Capcom has introduced a new mechanic called Focus Mode, allowing players to enhance precision during hunts, making it easier to track and attack monsters. The Wounds system adds tactical depth, as hunters can target specific monster parts to create weaknesses and open up opportunities for high-damage attacks.

Moreover, players will have access to the Seikret mounts.
