What a lot of folks don’t know is that a copy of Super Mario 64 was sold for around £1.20 million in July 2021. Just a month before, Super Mario Bros. was sold for more than £1.5 million. The reason why this version of Super Mario 64 costs so much is that the video game ushered in the age of 3D games. A copy of Super Mario Bros. was sold in July 2020 for £88K. It generated a lot of hype because it was packaged in a box with a cardboard hang tab beneath the plastic. This makes it one of the first copies of Super Mario Bros. that were released after Nintendo stopped packaging its games with shrink-wrap plastic.
