Paldean Fates isn’t the only set Pokemon fans should be excited about since The Pokemon Company has announced the release of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s newest expansion as well, Pokemon TCG Temporal Forces.
Set to be released just a few months after Paldean Fates, the Temporal Forces expansion set will feature some Pokemon debuts as well as cards from two upcoming sets in Japan. The biggest news about Temporal Forces to date is the return of ACE SPEC cards. We’ll be talking about all this and more in today’s article.

Pokemon TCG Temporal Forces Expansion Pack Contents
The first thing to do when talking about a new expansion pack should always be an overview of what’s in store for players. The Pokemon TCG Temporal Forces expansion pack will contain around 160 cards. Within these 160 cards, the most prominent cards include 7 ACE SPEC trainer and special energy cards, 13 Pokemon-EX, 2 Tera Pokemon-EX, 22 Illustration Rare Pokemon, 10 Super Illustration Rare Pokemon and Supporter cards, and finally, 6 Hyper Rare gold etched cards.
That’s not all you can find in the expansion pack, though. If you remember, we talked about some Pokemon making their debut in the West. These include Ancient Pokemon Walking Wake and Iron Leaves, as well as their EX forms. Paradox versions of Suicune and Virizion will also be up for grabs, so you definitely do not want to miss out on this pack. The Pokemon Company also mentioned that cards from the most recent Japanese packs, Wild Force and Cyber Judge, will also be added to the Pokemon TCG Temporal Forces expansion pack to sweeten the deal a little further.
If we shift our focus off from the Pokemon cards, you’ll see a number of special energy and trainer cards added as well. First and foremost are three of the ACE SPEC cards: Master Ball, Prime Catcher, and Neo Upper Energy. Dark and Metal energy were also included in the official reveal, so you can keep your eyes peeled for those cards as well since they’ll be in the packs. Newer players who are still getting the hang of Pokemon TCG should focus more on the two starter decks available in the Pokemon TCG Temporal Forces pack. They are based around Koraidon and Miraidon, and remove the hassle of building your own deck.

Pokemon TCG Temporal Forces Expansion Pack Reveal Date
Now that we’ve talked quite extensively about the pack contents, we should let you know when the expansion pack is set to drop. As per the official notification, the Pokemon TCG Temporal Forces Expansion pack will be in physical stores on March 22, 2024. The pre-order date ends on March 13, 2024, so be quick if you want to pre-order and get those free goodies.
This release date is really important in the Pokemon universe, and here’s why. The day Pokemon TCG Temporal Forces is set to release is the same date the Crimson Haze set will drop in Japan. Crimson Haze will feature cards from Pokemon’s Teal Mask DLC. Other than that, the European International Championships are scheduled just two weeks after Temporal Force’s release. That means some of these new cards will be making their debut on the big stage in front of millions of viewers.
Releasing the expansion just before a significant tournament helps shake up the meta a bit and keep things interesting. With the re-introduction of ACE SPEC cards (Last seen 12 years ago in the Black and White series), each deck is bound to have one that suits its purpose. But with the one-per-deck limit, let’s see how the meta shifts with the inclusion of ACE SPEC cards. Players can also make interesting combinations with the cards from Cyber Judge and Wild Force, which won’t be available in the West until Pokemon TCG Temporal Forces are released.
