Based on their research that 95.57 percent of surveyed Steam users are already on Windows 10 and 11, with nearly 2 percent of the remainder on Linux and 1.5 percent on Mac, which makes users on older Windows versions less than 1 percent. And by that, Steam are ceasing support on the older versions of Windows. The older versions of Windows that Steam ceased to support are Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1.
But Windows users aren’t the only ones to take note of this update, but also MacOS users. Support for MacOS will be discontinued on February 15th, which is just a month and a half away.
