Valorant is a generation-defining tactical hero shooter that has remained free-to-play since launch whilst generating revenue from microtransactions. These microtransactions primarily revolve around highly attractive yet relatively expensive weapon skins costing in-game currency called Valorant Points (short for VP), which can be refunded under certain conditions.
Can Weapon Skins Be Refunded in Valorant?
Weapon skins in Valorant fall under a range of prices, although it suffices to say that as the level of visual flair (I.e., VFX/SFX) increases, so does the accompanying price tag. Despite the added price, however, you would most likely crave the more premium weapon skins, which is why it’s important to spend your VP wisely.
So yes, should you accidentally end up buying the wrong skin, you can generally refund your weapon skin as long as it meets three strict conditions. If you meet these conditions, then the skin should appear as refundable on Valorant’s support website.
But what if you’ve already purchased the wrong skin at the time of reading this guide? In that case, Riot Games offers a one-time exempted refund to all players that they can apply to any one of their purchased skins, regardless of whether or not they meet the three conditions.

The Three Refund Conditions for a Weapon Skin in Valorant
Let’s say you’ve accidentally purchased the Forsaken Vandal instead of the Prime Vandal and are now short of 2175 VP. If your Forsaken Vandal meets the following three conditions, then it can be refunded, allowing you to purchase the Prime Vandal which you initially intended to buy:
- Not more than 14 days have passed since the accidental purchase.
- Neither has the weapon skin been upgraded, nor has any of its variants (If any) been unlocked.
- The weapon skin has not been used even once in any gamemode, including Practice Mode and Custom Game.

How to Refund a Weapon Skin in Valorant?
Following up with the previous example, if your Forsaken Vandal is unused, unupgraded, and not more than 14 days old, then it is eligible for a refund. To claim the refund, follow these steps:
- Head over to Valorant’s support website and login into your Valorant account.

- Out of the support services, click on REFUND UNUSED CONTENT.

- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on GET MY ORDER HISTORY.

- You will see all the eligible refunds that can be made, so find the Forsaken Vandal and refund it!

If, for some reason, you can not see your refundable skin in the order history, then you can alternatively submit a request ticket to get in touch with Riot Games Support. Follow these steps to submit a request ticket successfully:
- Head over to Valorant’s support website and login into your Valorant account.

- Navigate to the header and click SUBMIT A TICKET.

- In the request types, choose In-Game Question/Issue & In-Game Content Refund.

- Wait for the page to reload with the rest of the form.

- Fill out the form as clearly as possible, and be sure to attach any relevant images/screenshots that could help with the refunding process.
Conclusion
In free-to-play games, microtransactions often make the experience a lot more flashy and enjoyable, and Valorant is no exception with the amount of creativity that goes into each Skin collection. However, the last thing anyone wants is to accidentally purchase the wrong Skin while saving up for something else, which is where Valorant’s refund policy comes in clutch!
