The popular house-flipping game from 2018, House Flipper, has recently launched the game’s second edition called House Flipper 2. Now, House Flipper has always been a single-player game since the entire gameplay was built around living out your personal dream, but House Flipper 2 is bringing in some new changes. On top of that, many players wondered whether the game would support cross-platform and cross-progression, so that’s what we’ll be talking about today.

Is House Flipper 2 Cross-Platform and Cross Progression Coming?
In comparison to House Flipper, House Flipper 2 might be seeing some major changes, as we mentioned before. One of those could be the potential addition of a multiplayer mode, something that was unexpected in regard to this game. As for the game being cross-platform and cross-progression, we still don’t have any official confirmation on that.
The possibility for cross-platform is definitely there, considering they might be adding a multiplayer mode. Cross-platform makes it that much easier to play with your friends since you can link up with each other across different devices. This has almost become a necessity for games that are released on different platforms like PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.
If we look towards cross-progression, while there hasn’t been much news surrounding this topic, House Flipper did have a cross-progression feature as far as we know. If the game doesn’t remove the key features from its previous game, we should be expecting both cross-platform and cross-progression to be available in the House Flipper 2.
Did House Flipper Have Cross-Platform and Cross-Progression?
If we look at House Flipper 2’s predecessor, the original House Flipper game, it had the cross-progression feature but did not support cross-platform play. The main reason for having one but not the other was simply that House Flipper was a single-player game and could not have cross-platform and cross-progression.
Since it was a single-player experience, the cross-platform feature was voided. However, with House Flipper being released on multiple platforms, they had to put in a cross-progression feature to allow players to transfer their progress onto different devices.
When asked if the developers were going to add a multiplayer feature in the future to House Flipper, they responded on the Steam forum by saying that such a feature would be too much of a challenge for the studio since House Flipper was not developed with co-play in mind. They also pointed out that there would also be a lot of code that would have to be completely rewritten for the multiplayer feature to work.
So basically, they’ll need to restructure their game completely, which isn’t an easy feat. That is why House Flipper did not have cross-platform and cross-progression features together.

Multiplayer and Cross-Platform Gaming in House Flipper 2
With House Flipper 2, we already mentioned that it is speculated that the game will feature both cross-platform and cross-progression capabilities. You already know what both these things mean, but let’s look at what multiplayer modes and cross-platform gaming would entail in this house-building game.
If House Flipper 2 does introduce co-op play, you will finally be able to build and renovate houses with your friends. Regardless of what platform your friends are on, they should be able to join you in your house-flipping adventures without an issue. You can share tasks and ideas amongst yourselves and complete joint ventures to create even greater houses.
This is why the introduction of cross-platform and cross-progression will be great additions to the game and will definitely take the house-revamping simulator up a notch.
