Issues with Game Launch in Last Epoch Early Access
We decided it would be best to start at the beginning, and that’s obviously not being able to log into the game. This has been a major problem for many players who have complained of not being able to log in to their accounts in Last Epoch Early Access. While this issue can occur at any point in time, it is most commonly found right after installing the game or after major updates. Players are left hanging and logged out until the issue resolves itself.
As per player comments, we’ve seen that this issue does not persist long for some players. Many others, on the other hand, have said that this problem persisted even after reinstalling the game and all its files.
Connection Issues and Disconnects
Getting into the game wasn’t the last of your problems, as players playing Last Epoch Early Access also complained of frequently disconnecting from the servers. This issue was especially highlighted anytime users would try to move from one zone to the next. The loading screen between the zones would time out and disconnect the player from the server. On the Last Epoch forums, players also mentioned that they were not having internet issues on other applications, only Last Epoch.
Connection issues or packet losses are bound to happen in any online game, but things get really out of hand when they’re happening consistently. Moments, when players are in heated combat and need to zone through to the next area can be disrupted due to being disconnected from the game. It ruins the tempo of the event, and many might not attempt those quests or bosses again.
Last Epoch Early Access introduced Online mode a few years back, and the connection issues have spiked since then. While the heat has died down a bit on this problem, many initially called for developers to remove Online mode altogether so they could at least play solo mode in peace. It should be noted that, as with most other issues, connection issues can also appear on the user’s side due to unstable internet. While the loss of connection is definitely Eleventh Hour Games will need to resolve before release, players should also make sure their internet is running smoothly.

Framerate Drops and Looting Glitches in the Last Epoch’s Early Access
Now that we’re through issues that make the game literally unplayable, the next issue has led to a lot of players not wanting to play the game. This includes framerate drops and looting glitches in the Last Epoch Early Access version. If you’ve ever played any fast-paced RPG, FPS, MOBA, etc, you’ll understand how infuriating it can be to experience rubber-banding and laggy movement.

This can sometimes be brought on by network issues, but other times, it is due to server issues. You can also link this to glitches in the mechanism for picking up loot. With framerate drops, you’ll need to consistently click on an item to pick it up, which makes doing mundane tasks really hectic.
The loot pickup system hasn’t been discussed much on Last Epoch’s forums yet, but many players have admitted to facing similar issues, just not reporting it as often as that can be time-consuming on its own.

The Takeaway
The release date of last Epoch 1.0 is almost upon us, and we can only hope it receives a smooth launch. With early access riddled with some significant problems, it will really affect its popularity in the coming months when games usually reach their peak. For now, we can only wait and see how things play out.
