Last Epoch’s release date is inching closer every day, and players are hyped for what Eleventh Hour Games has in store. The game is coming off Steam’s Early Access after being there for over 4 years. Now, players are expecting some major updates and big changes as the game’s full version will be released.
To smooth things along and give players a sense of what they should expect, Eleventh Hour Games released a Last Epoch roadmap to outline major milestones until launch. Let’s get right into what we know about the Last Epoch roadmap.

Developers Release Last Epoch Roadmap
The Last Epoch roadmap essentially covers three major updates. The first update covered Item Factions, the second was for the Warlock preview, and the final update will be regarding the Falconer preview. Once these three major updates are rolled out, the game will roll out in full on February 21.
These updates are in no way the end of development in Last Epoch, they’re actually just the beginning. Eleventh Hour Games has promised to release new updates every few months in a ‘Cycles’ system. This ensures players aren’t bored of the same mechanics and have something fresh to look forward to.
With that covered, we’re now going to go through the updates mentioned in the Last Epoch roadmap, so you know exactly what’s coming in-game.
Item Factions – January 11
Item Factions is the first update shown in the roadmap and was released on January 11, 2024. Item Factions were first announced in February 2023, when developers were planning to roll out Last Epoch 0.9. This entailed the game essentially having two Item Factions, Merchants’ Guild and Circle of Fortune. Both factions benefitted from a certain playstyle in order to cater to a wider player base.
Merchants’ Guild is more tailored towards players who want to frequently exchange or engage in buying/selling deals of items. It will allow players of this faction to buy or sell any sort of equipment freely and trade directly in the game’s Bazaar. The Bazaar is a place in Last Epoch where you can barter with other players in real-time or put up items for sale. The higher your rank within the Merchants’ Guild, the higher the rarity of items you can trade.
Circle of Fortune is completely different and focuses on a dungeon-grinding playstyle. This faction is more suited for players who often take down bosses in hopes of good loot. Being a part of the Circle of Fortune improves the quantity and quality of item drops, plus you can use prophecies to hunt certain item types. As you rank up in these Item Factions, your items have a greater chance of being Exalted, and Unique items are twice as likely to have Legendary Potential.

Warlock Preview – January 25
The second update, which was scheduled in the Last Epoch roadmap, was the Warlock preview, and it was introduced on January 25th. Warlock is one of the 15 character class paths you can go down and uses Acolyte as the base class. You can find the entire Warlock mastery tree on their website, but we’ll break down the basics.
Warlock, a practitioner of the forbidden arts, uses spells to curse and distort the enemy’s mind and body. Using dark magic, it can remove any hindrance in its path without much difficulty and leave enemies wrenching in pain. Players will have access to 5 new skills, including Chthonic Fissure, Chaos Bolts, Soul Feast, Profane Veil, and Ghost Flame when opting for Warlock as their character’s class.
This class also has 5 new curses, which are Penance, Anguish, Decrepify, Acid Skin, and Torment. You can use the passive tree to build the class further to your liking and according to your playstyle.
Falconer Preview – February 8
The last part before release in the Last Epoch roadmap was the Falconer Preview. Now, we know that it is a branch of the Rogue base class alongside Bladedancer and Marksman. The Falconer class utilises a fearsome bird of prey to hunt down her enemies, no matter where they are. You’ll have access to 5 skills, namely Falconry, Aerial Assault, Dive Bomb, Net, and Explosive Trap.
Looking at the image in the Last Epoch roadmap, we knew the class would factor in a handy pet who’s always by your side. For the mastery bonus, choosing the Falconer class will grant you +12 Dexterity and +1 Falcon melee damage per 4 Dexterity.
Other than this small piece of information, we’ll just need to wait for February 21.

Parting Thoughts
Last Epoch 1.0 was as already exciting as it was, but the Last Epoch roadmap definitely sweetened the deal even further. Big updates like Item Factions plus the introduction of new character classes will help players try out something new and build a more helpful community.
With the roadmap unveiling these updates, you should have an idea about which path you want to go down before the global release of the full game later this month.
