The My Time series is back with its latest entry, My Time at Evershine, following the critically acclaimed My Time at Portia and My Time at Sandrock. Developed by Pathea Games, this ambitious life-simulation RPG will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and the upcoming successor to the Nintendo Switch, presumably Nintendo Switch 2.
A Kickstarter campaign launching on September 24, 2024, offering fans the opportunity to support its development, as Creative Director Zifei Wu emphasised the importance of early-stage funding during the announcement.
In his own words, he stated: “My Time at Sandrock cost a lot — like $12-million-a-lot, and still counting. We expect My Time at Evershine’s budget to be somewhere in that ballpark as well. Having extra funding at this stage allows us to plan for bigger and better features and enables the community to offer direct feedback on key elements of the game’s design.”

My Time at Evershine Represents a New Era in the Series

Building on the foundation laid by its predecessors, My Time at Evershine promises to be the most ambitious and immersive game in the series yet. For example, Pathea aims to enhance the life-simulation genre with more complex role-playing elements, including character progression, expansive exploration, and engaging quests.
The focus also shifts from being a builder to becoming the Governor of a settlement, where players will oversee not just construction but the entire development of a new city-state.
In addition, My Time at Evershine will feature an innovative art style, more realistic character designs, and a narrative-rich campaign with town management mechanics. The game also emphasises meaningful relationships, and combat against the looming threat of the Duvos Empire, and offers multiplayer co-op for the first time in the series.
My Time at Evershine Key Features
1) Story-Driven Campaign with Revampt Art

As mentioned earlier, players will take on the role of a Governor in My Time at Evershine, responsible for building and managing a settlement on the fringes of the Free Cities while facing threats from the Duvos Empire. For instance, players must recruit settlers, build infrastructure, and manage resources to transform their settlement into a thriving city-state.
Moreover, there is also a stronger antagonist driving the adventure forward in the visual overhaul of My Time at Evershine as the developers promised a more realistic art style, expansive environments, and motion-captured animations that bring the world and its characters to life in a way never before seen in the series.
2) Buiding Society and Relationship

In the game, players will recruit and command NPCs to handle day-to-day operations, freeing up time for larger tasks such as expansion and exploration. Like with many building games, continuous expansion allows for more freedom to explore, make crucial decisions, and shape the future of the settlement.
While My Time at Evershine has many new features, it retains its core of building relationships with NPCs. The developers mentioned improvements in its core mechanic, such as players able to recruit up to three followers to assist with daily tasks or send them on missions across Northern Eufaula. Romance options have also been expanded, with eight to ten romanceable characters integrated into the campaign.
3) Timeline, Multiplayer and Full Mod Support
As for the timeline for the My Time series, My Time at Evershine takes place three years after My Time at Sandrock, with tensions rising between the Alliance of Free Cities and the Duvos Empire. Like with its predecessors, Players will need to tame the wilds of Northern Eufaula, establishing their settlement in this contested region.
Moreover, for the first time in the My Time series, My Time at Evershine will feature cooperative multiplayer, allowing up to four players to enjoy the campaign together. The host controls the narrative’s pace while all players share resources and collaborate on tasks, making it a great game to play with friends or family.
Lastly, the game will feature full mod support, both in single-player and multiplayer modes, enabling players the freedom to customise their gameplay experience.
Parting Notes

Though Nintendo has yet to reveal its successor to the Switch officially, this announcement makes My Time at Evershine the first confirmed title for the unannounced platform. Rumours suggest that the new system, colloquially “Switch 2,” will offer significant power improvements, potentially utilising the game’s more advanced graphics and multiplayer features.
Regardless, My Time at Evershine marks an exciting evolution of the My Time series, blending life simulation, RPG elements, and town-building mechanics with an engaging new narrative and strategic gameplay. With its expansive world, meaningful relationships, and innovative systems, My Time at Evershine is shaping to be the most ambitious title in the series yet.
