Xbox exclusives are titled as they only remain on the Xbox console platform. However, Party Animals, the Xbox exclusive nominated for Best Multiplayer and Best Family Game at The Game Awards 2023, seems to be releasing on PlayStation consoles soon.

According to PlayStation’s listing, the fun and chaotic multiplayer party game developed by Recreate Games and published by Source Technology is already in the works as PlayStation console holders can finally get a taste of the Gang Beast-inspired game.
Party Animals Is Coming to PlayStation
Originally released on Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, Party Animals had over 100,000 players wishlist the game on Steam as many were eager to play the successor to Gang Beasts, the 2014 indie party game hit by Boneloaf. Unfortunately, Party Animals was unavailable for everyone during release as it was only for Game Pass-compatible systems.

Now, after mixed reactions from the gaming community ten months later, the game will finally become accessible on PlayStation consoles as its PlayStation store page shows that Recreate Games pitches it as the “best game for a Saturday night with friends.”
Thus, to help you decide whether you should opt for the delightful and chaotic party game, we will highlight its pros and cons below.
Party Animals Pros vs Cons
As mentioned earlier, Party Animals has garnered mixed reactions from the gaming community, reflecting its strengths and areas where players feel it could improve. To start us off, let’s look at what makes the game enticing for players.
Firstly, the game’s core concept is its humorous and fun gameplay. For example, it is lighthearted and chaotic. The physics-based mechanics also lead to hilarious interactions and unexpected outcomes, making it a hit during social gaming sessions. Naturally, character designs make up most of the game’s interaction as the cute and charming animal characters’ unique animations and expressive designs add to the game’s silly moments.
In addition, Party Animals’s simple controls and mechanics make it accessible to players of all ages and skill levels, appealing to those wanting a party game for family gatherings and parties.
As for its cons, Party Animals lacks content variety, particularly in game modes and maps. Despite the game having 23 maps and three different game modes, it still fails to entice players to return after initial excitements wear off. Lastly, technical issues have disrupted gameplay for players as glitches and bugs in an already unpredictable nature of physics-based gameplay are sometimes too random for people to accept.
Is It Worth to Try Party Animals?
Speaking from someone who has played the game solo and with friends, Party Animals is worth a try as it delivers humorous and chaotic fun, especially in a multiplayer setting. For example, you can never forget the laughter and satisfaction as you grapple and toss your friends around with exaggerated, ragdoll-like movements.
Secondly, the developers at Recreate Games are actively working on updates and new content for Party Animals after initial criticisms. For instance, they added new characters, including puppies, kittens, bunnies, and other charming creatures. If you are a sucker for animals, this game definitely touches your heartstring.
Lastly, the interactive arenas where your animals fight are a lesser-mentioned strength of this game. In this game, the arenas feature interactive environments such as moving platforms, hazards, and items that players can use to their advantage or fall victim to add an extra layer of strategy and chaos to the battles.
With everything considered, Party Animals remains a game best enjoyed in short, lively bursts with friends, capturing the spirit of playful competition and laughter for now, as its appeal lies in the simplicity of its mechanics combined with the depth provided by its physics engine.
Party Animals Is Not the Only Xbox Exclusive Coming to PlayStation
According to Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer at the official Xbox podcast in February this year, “Microsoft has officially decided to take four games to the other consoles”.

As for the four games, rumours highlighted that Sea of Thieves, Hi-FI Rush, Pentiment, and Grounded will be coming to PlayStation consoles. For more information regarding this, check our article here.
