PlateUp!, a PC food simulation game, is finally getting a console version and players couldn’t be happier. The indie strategy game that has you managing an entire restaurant with three other players was originally released in 2022 solely on PC.
We’ll finally see it on PlayStation and Xbox a year and a half later since its release. In anticipation of that, let’s talk about PlateUp! release date and other rumoured features we’ve heard about.

PlateUp! Release Date
With PlateUp! finally being released for console players as well, the community couldn’t be more hyped. This will significantly grow the game’s player base and help diversify the community. The official PlateUp! release date is February 15, 2024, just over two weeks away. With everyone gearing up to put their restauranteering skills to work, we’ll have to see just how the game translates from PC to console.
Although this is not your average food simulation game, it has tons of fun features. Developed by It’s Happening and published by Yogscast, PlateUp! focuses on more than just serving piping hot dishes to your customers. From being co-op to allowing customisation of your restaurant, PlateUp! release date couldn’t come any faster.

Why Were There Delays in PlateUp! Release Date
While we’re delighted to hear there is finally an official PlateUp! release date, this wasn’t what was originally intended by Yogscast and yet it’s happening. After first announcing the console version’s launch at the Indie World Showcase in April last year, the original release date was expected to be somewhere in October 2023.
Unfortunately, that’s not how things panned out though. Around October of last year, Yogscast sent out a tweet on X stating that there were still some bugs and issues they had to fix before releasing the game on the console. Due to this, they had to push back the expected release date to early 2024.
This announcement was definitely saddening but people took it well, stating that it was better to work out the kinks before launch rather than have players play a glitchy game. But now that early 2024 is finally here, we’ve received the official PlateUp! release date and can look forward to all that culinary action.
PlateUp! On PC
We mentioned before that this is actually not the first time PlateUp! will be released, just for anyone unaware. PlateUp! has been available on Steam for over a year now and has garnered a large player base. It has received high praise for its gameplay and features, even though some say it is highly inspired by Overcooked.
PlateUp! boasts some amazing stats on Steam, having a 10/10 rating from 11,000+ reviews. This is no easy task, especially for a game that has been released in such a short span of time.
Steam reviews aren’t the only thing that benefits PlateUp!’s early PC launch. With many console players already anticipating the game, they have a good idea of what the game is and what features are included. Very little will be changed in terms of gameplay between the PC and console versions so players can just check out what they’re buying beforehand.
PlateUp! Pricing
Now that we’re through with PlateUp! release date and everything that led up to it, we’ll give you a small rundown of how the game is priced. There are two versions you can pre-order, the standard edition and the collector’s edition.
The standard edition is priced at $39.95 and includes just the base game. On the other hand, the collector’s edition has some great limited-edition freebies that some of you may really like and is priced at $59.95. Depending on what your pocket allows, you can pre-order PlateUp! before its release date.

The Takeaway
Food simulation might not be everyone’s slice of pie but PlateUp! makes it so enjoyable and mesmerising. The fast-paced service, ever-evolving diner, and finesse required to plate up the perfect dish seems too good of an offer to pass.
Still, how well the game fares on the console will only be seen after the PlateUp! release date. Till then, we’ll just have to wait for more gameplay trailers.
