Romance in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth | How to Date Saeko?

Romance in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is beautiful, with lifelike characters and authentic moments shared between Ichiban and his love interest. That said, you can’t romance multiple partners in the game, which is unlike games like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Instead, Ichiban Kasuga has only one romantic interest, Saeko Mukoda.

However, Ichiban’s problem is that he doesn’t know how to woo the ladies, so it’s up to the players to help him choose his dialogue. Luckily, though, Player.com’s choices didn’t affect this questline, so you’re free to abuse your freedom in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.

Your Dialogue Doesn’t Hold Much Weight

This isn’t The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, where you can date multiple ladies, so don’t expect your choices to affect Saeko’s questline too much. However, it’s normal to expect your choices to drastically change your romantic partner’s opinion of you. The only facets of the quest that will be affected by your dialogue choices are:

• Your dialogue choices beget other dialogue options to choose from. In short, each choice will be followed by other unique dialogue options. 
• Your dialogue choices will increase different Personality stats that can help unlock certain Jobs faster. Cyberpunk 2077 has a similar dialogue system, so you can check it out if you’re a fan of sci-fi games. 

The Right Dialogue Options in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth

This dating mini-game lets you choose between the different Personality types available in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. So, you can think of it as an introduction to Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth’s various Personalities. Personalities such as Charisma, Passion, and Kindness are necessary for unlocking Jobs and their unique moves. Heck, you need Level 5 confidence to unlock the Samurai Job.

A Breakdown of All the Scenarios During Your Date with Saeko 

There are several highs and lows during your date with Saeko as Ichiban Kasuga. We managed to isolate and break them down, so you know what’s expected of you. Below, you can enjoy all the scenarios that’ll pop up during your date.

• Scenario #1 (How to Wait for Your Date?): This is the first scenario that you’ll encounter while you’re on your date with Saeko. You decide how to wait for her via two options. Your dialogue options won’t affect the outcome of your date but your Personality will be affected. 
• Scenario #2 (Where to Go for Your Date with Saeko?): The next scenario, after choosing how to wait for Saeko, is to decide where the date itself will take place. Thankfully, Adachi and Nanba are close enough to recommend ideas. Pick one of the two dialogue options that pop up. 
• Scenario #3 (What to Wear for Your Date with Saeko?): The next scenario is wardrobe-related, or rather, you don’t want to wear it for your date with Saeko. Naturally, your friends are there to help and sure enough, they recommend two different ideas. Adachi wants you to stun, while Nanba wants you to look dapper. 
• Scenario #4 (How to Respond to Saeko?): You’ll eventually find out that no place is available for your date and Saeko will voice her concern. At that point, you can stun your date by either playing it cool or wearing your emotions on your sleeves. Yes, your decision won’t affect the date’s outcome.
• Scenario #5 (Who Should Be the Topic of Your Conversation?): After that conversation, you will also decide who to talk about, of which your options are Nanba and Adachi. It’s small talk, nothing serious, especially as Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth won’t take your choices that seriously in this quest.
• Scenario #6 (How to Respond After Saeko Feels Embarrassed?): After finding a restaurant to eat at, Saeko blunders and feels super uncomfortable. Heck, the air around you both immediately turns awkward, so you’re presented with two options once more. One is a charismatic approach, while the other comes from a place of confidence. 
• Scenario #7 (What Kind of Boyfriend Do You Want to Be?): After the date, Saeko is confronted by someone curious about her relationship with Ichiban. She says that Ichiban is her boyfriend and while there’s no option to call her out, you can pick the type of boyfriend you want to be. As usual, Adachi and Nanba’s approach will come to mind; Do you want to be humble and carefree or cool and stylish?

Our Final Say: Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth Makes Romancing Saeko Fun 

Romancing Saeko is a super fun experience in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth; Especially as Saeko’s antics are very realistic. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth will take you upwards of 40 hours to complete and the date with Saeko is just one of them. Unfortunately, Ichiban doesn’t have any other romantic interests besides Saeko.

This is hopefully a flaw that the developers will fix in future updates or DLCs. However, we’re keeping our fingers crossed until that day. That said, romance in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth can’t hold a candle to Gerald’s escapades in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. We look forward to playing The Witcher 4: Polaris and experiencing its romantic highs and lows.
