The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is simply phenomenal. It’s proof to the developers that players will enjoy their ingenuity when it’s masterfully executed. And ingenuity is a quality that Breath of the Wild players have in abundance. So, Nintendo’s answer to players wanting more is simple – the Expansion Pass! Continue your unforgettable journey with Link by exploring two new DLCs and finding three treasure chests.

Three New Gifts
The Great Plateau of Hyrule is big enough for the team from Nintendo to work their magic. That’s why you can find three new chests at shrines located throughout the region. Namely, a Nintendo Switch shirt, a ruby, and five bomb arrows.
DLC Pack 1: The Master Trials

Trial of the Sword
Visit a pre-selected location to test your combat skills. In the Trial of the Sword, players will have to take out enemies, round by round. Of course, this is a kind of battle arena, which means you have to kill all the enemies in one room to move on to the next round/room. 45 are waiting for you! But players start without food, armour, and equipment.
Yeah, tough luck this time. But the rewards outweigh the hours of button-mashing and counter attacks required to pass this test. Ever wanted to use the Master Sword without its side effects? Well, finally, you can! If you complete this trial, Link will be able to use the Master Sword whenever it’s available.
Hero’s Path Mode
Hero’s Path Mode allows players to record their gameplay for up to 200 hours. Of course, there are playback features as well. You can pause, play, speed up, slow down, activate or deactivate map icons. Also, all of Link’s deaths are tracked so you can easily pick up where you left off. This mode also allows players to find places that Link hasn’t explored yet. Searching for Korok seeds couldn’t be easier with this mode.
Master Mode
Enemies in Master Mode are one level higher than their previous levels. In this mode, enemies also regenerate when you stop attacking them and their perception of Link is increased. There is also a new difficulty mode that isn’t available in normal mode. This new difficulty mode is harder to master than the usual difficulty level. Other new discoveries include floating enemies and treasures.
Travel Medallion
You can find the Travel Medallion in one of the new treasure chests you find on your journey. Place the Travel Medallion in your current location and Link can travel there at any time. It’s very useful to get Link out of fights in which he’s losing. Remember that the Travel Medallion only registers one location at a time.
Korok Mask
This Korok Mask is very useful when players are searching for Korok Seeds. How does it work? The mask shakes when a seed is nearby! So Link must be actively wearing the mask to use this ability.
Other Items: The Eight Pieces of Clothing
Link has wandered the glaciers and plains of Hyrule so players have already seen quite a lot of the story and Kingdom. As such, players can find eight treasure garments hidden in chests in the most elusive of places in Hyrule. The items are Tingle’s Hood, Tingle’s Shirt, Tingle’s Tights, Majora’s Mask, Midna’s Helmet, Phantom Helmet, Phantom Armour, and Phantom Greaves.
DLC Pack 2: The Champions’ Ballad

The Champion’s Ballad
The Champion’s Ballad challenges Link to the Divine Beast Tamer’s trial. You strictly eliminate enemies using the One-Hit Obliterator. Conquer new shrines, free a dungeon, and master many other challenges in this trial. Don’t be afraid! The rewards are worth it. When you defeat Monk Maz Koshia, the final boss, Link will receive a new rune ability, the Master Zero Cycle.
It’s a motorcycle with Sheikah characters that Link can summon on a whim. The Master Zero Cycle is as fast as a horse and is more durable. Players have to refuel this vehicle to use it, so it can’t be ridden indefinitely. Along the way, you’ll meet Kass the bard, who is travelling through Hyrule to complete a song. It’s an unfinished song from his teacher.
As Link reaches his milestones, the bard Kass performs new songs that honour the memories of the four champions and Zelda. Be curious! Explore the Ballad and complete the unfinished song. This will help complete the story of the fallen champions.
Note: You must complete the main quest by freeing the divine beasts before you can play the Champion’s Ballad.
Ancient Horse Gear
The Ancient Horse Gear allows players to call their horses to them, regardless of the distance between them. This is quite handy for situations when you want a quick getaway. Also, this ancient equipment increases the number of spurs on your horse so you can ride longer.
9 Treasure Clothes
Along with the 8 treasure dresses from the Master Trials, Link has to discover 9 more treasure clothes, making 17 garments in total. The items are a Royal Guard outfit (Complete with Royal Guard Cap, Royal Guard Uniform, and Royal Guard Boots), Island Lobster Shirt, Ravio’s Hood, Zant’s Helmet, Phantom Ganon Skull, Phantom Ganon Armour, and Phantom Ganon Greaves.
