6 New Features in WWE 2K24

WWE 2K24 is gearing up to be one of the top wrestling games released to date, which means tons of new features and game modes. Due to it being WrestleMania’s 40th anniversary this year, 2K Games and Visual Concepts have gone all out on making this a game for the ages. Today, we’ll talk about all the new features in WWE 2K24 they’ve added to make it stand out, as well as some updates to existing features for a better quality of gameplay.

You have probably heard of some of these if you’ve been following trailers and announcements put out by 2K Games. However, now we’ll take you on a deeper dive into exactly what these game modes are going to consist of, and you can see whether they cater to your taste in gameplay.

2K Showcase of the Immortals

First up, we’re discussing the most important new feature in WWE 2K24, Showcase of the Immortals. If you’re wondering why it’s so important to the extent it got a separate trailer, it’s because it commemorates forty years of WrestleMania events. WrestleMania is WWE’s biggest event of the year, and the game will be dropping at the perfect time to hype up fans before WrestleMania XXXX. Not only does it have an individual trailer, but WWE 2K24 also has a Forty Years of WrestleMania edition with all the WrestleMania greats on the cover.

Moving on to the game mode itself, the 2K Showcase of the Immortals consists of 21 matches to give you a blast from the past. Even though WrestleMania happens every year, certain matches have both taken place on WrestleMania and simultaneously carved the path for future WWE matches. Players will have the option to play these iconic matches, starting from WrestleMania III when Hulk Hogan slammed Andre the Giant. 

As you fulfil match conditions and clear the matches themselves, you will unlock new exclusive content like different arenas and characters to add to your roster. It also gives players a feel of what it was like to wrestle it out on the grandest stage of them all. So, if you’re going to play the game and are a WrestleMania fan, this game mode was made for you.

MyRISE

While Showcase of the Immortals might have been the main attraction for WWE 2K24, several other cool modes are being added to the game as well. If you’ve ever dreamed of wanting to see your wrestling career take off but never had the time to invest in it, here’s your chance. MyRISE allows players to create their own WWE superstar and start their journey into the WWE universe.

There are two pathways players can go down: MyRISE Unleashed and MyRISE Undisputed. Both of these are part of the new features in WWE 2K24 and will show you what it feels like to climb the ranks amongst the wrestling greats. Tackle all the hurdles a new wrestler must face before going up the ladder, managing relationships as well as winning matches to save your reputation.

MyFACTION

MyFACTION is really interesting in that you can try something entirely different from what originally takes place in the WWE universe. With MyFACTION, you can build your own faction of superstars from any era of WWE. These can include iconic names like Shawn Michaels and the Undertaker or the more recent, rising superstars like Bianca Belair.

Once you’ve finalised your faction, put it to the test against opposing factions using the online multiplayer mode. Get on the ranked leaderboard and start your climb to see how high you can get before the season resets.

Universe Mode

If fighting simulation isn’t your thing, no problem. 2K Games have really branched out in terms of new features in WWE 2K24, and Universe Mode is a great depiction of that. Unlike other preset modes, Universe mode is more like a sandbox RPG. Here, you’ll be in control of the people behind the scenes rather than tussling it out in the ring.

Create rivalries and unfair matches, or put wrestlers to the test to defend their titles back-to-back. You hold all the power in this game mode, and you need to show them you’re not afraid to use it.

All-New Match Types

Getting new match types was a given, and 2K Games have delivered well. Match types like Casket match, Guest referee, and Ambulance match are all coming to WWE 2K24. Not to mention new backstage brawl scenarios where wrestlers can duke it out behind the camera. Take your favourites into the ring and set up some interesting matches to play out your heart’s desires.

We’ve talked about a lot of new features in WWE 2K24. Some allow you to create your own wrestler, while others have you building your own faction of superstars. MyGM is different from all of these since you’ll be managing an entire branch of the WWE universe. You can trade wrestlers, make or break existing contracts, or even fire someone as part of an executive decision, with no one ever asking why.
