Is Blue Protocol Release Date Confirmed?
A successor to popular games Honkay Star Rails and Genshin Impact, Blue Protocol is an MMORPG developed by Bandai Namco and is set to be published by Amazon Games. The game was launched in Japan on June 14th, 2023, but we’re still waiting on the global release. That said, the Blue Protocol release date for the Western region has not been confirmed just yet. All we know is that it will be somewhere in 2024.
The game was originally set to be released globally in 2023, but the Western release was delayed to add some additional features. One of the major problems faced by the Western release is that there is a different publisher for each region, the Western and Japanese regions. This makes things slightly complicated and could be a cause for the delay in Blue Protocol’s release date.
With both regions having different publishers, players should not expect cross-play or cross-progression, at least on release. The bright side is that Bandai Namco has said that both these features are under consideration, so we might get them eventually as the game progresses. That’s all we know about the Blue Protocol release date for now. We are waiting on any updates or news, just like everyone else.
What Platforms Will Blue Protocol Be Released On?
With the expected Blue Protocol release date inching closer, fans were eagerly waiting to hear what platforms Blue Protocol will be released on. You can play the game for free on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. The game will not be available on older consoles, so cross-generation gameplay will not be a feature.
The one point to note is that Blue Protocol was made controller-first, meaning the controls are better adapted to controller buttons. While the game will work perfectly on PC as well, Amazon Games has stated that you’ll receive a smoother experience when playing on console.

Blue Protocol PC Beta
Even though we don’t have a definitive read on the Blue Protocol release date for the Western region, Bandai Namco has planned Blue Protocol beta phases before the game’s official global release. This is for players outside the Japanese region to try out the game beforehand and possibly give feedback on what the company could change before releasing it publicly.
It is a closed beta session, so don’t expect to get in on the first try since only a select handful of players will be selected. The last beta just ended on November 13th 2023, so we don’t expect one until early 2024, but it doesn’t hurt to sign up beforehand.
Blue Protocol Story and Classes
If we move over to the gameplay side of things, the first thing that comes to mind is the playable characters and classes you can choose from. For anyone who’s played Genshin Impact or Honkai Star Rails, you’ll probably know how the story progresses. You’re in a dystopian world called Regnas, where the overuse of technology has brought on humanity’s downfall.
The story is definitely very vast, and there will be tons of exploration and objectives for you to complete. You, being the main protagonist, must band together as a team and go forth to save humanity from the terrors that lurk. It won’t be easy, but with enough experience and strength, you should be able to overcome any monsters that cross your path.
As for the classes available at the Blue Protocol release date, you have a choice from five classes, each with varying attributes. There’s Blade Warden, Keen Strider, Spell Weaver, Twin Striker, and Foe Breaker. As the game progresses, you can upgrade your class, unlocking new abilities and powers to get stronger. At one point in the game, you even have the ability to switch classes, so we’ll be on the lookout for information regarding that.

Make sure to keep an eye out on the Blue Protocol release date so you don’t miss out on the initial gameplay hype.
