FromSoftware is an extremely successful game developer who created masterpieces like the Dark Souls Trilogy, Elden Ring, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. The studio has proven its worth in creating immersive single-player experiences that are captivating. That’s not to say that FromSoftware’s games don’t rock great multiplayer modes.
On the contrary, the game developer’s multiplayer is always challenging, especially Elden Ring’s PvP mode. Gamers at Player.com particularly love the PvP mode. You’ll be able to battle not only the game’s bosses but also other formidable players who have dominated the world of Elden Ring. To that end, this is a breakdown of FromSoftware’s upcoming games. We included leaks and other juicy bits of information.

Why Were Elden Ring and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice So Successful?
Elden Ring and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice are incredibly successful entertainment products. The first one is a masterpiece because of its lush sandbox, great visuals, and rewarding catacombs. In Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, you’re a master assassin who faces larger-than-life bosses. For a similar experience, check out the bosses in Ghost of Tsushima. However, the one aspect that both games have in common is the sleek combat mechanics.
In Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, you have to master parrying or else even the foot soldiers will cut down Sekiro in a flash. However, Elden Ring encourages players to dodge attacks instead via rolls and jumps. Ultimately, combat is an intense and intimate affair, regardless of which game you’re talking about.
To that end, FromSoftware’s upcoming games will benefit from the studio’s winning formula. Look forward to an intricate combat system coupled with sleek graphics and terrifying enemies. Their new games may cross the 10 million sales mark. You can read about games like Elden Ring here.
Three New Games in Development
Reports currently say that FromSoftware is developing three new games, including Spellbound, a PS5 exclusive. That said, the only game that has leaked so far is Spellbound, which was reported by an individual on Resetera. The game is supposedly being co-developed by PlayStation and FromSoftware.
FromSoftware’s Last Release: Armored Core VI
Months after Elden Ring was released, FromSoftware released the trailer for Armored Core VI. It took fans by surprise because we didn’t believe the game would ever see the light of day. That said, Armored Core VI has some Soulsborne DNA in it, so players can look forward to the grind. Other features of the game that we love are:
- Huge Omni-Directional Sandboxes: The sandbox of this FromSoftware game is huge, detailed, and immersive. It’s similar to the sandbox in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. So, there’s ample space to perform stuns in the air and on the ground.
- Boss Battles Are Always Over the Top: You’ve got a plethora of offensive and defensive tactics for long and close-range combat. It’s up to you to choose the best tactics for beating a boss.
- Customise Your Mech: Customise your mech to suit your playstyle. If you favour heavy attacks, some parts can aid your style. For light attacks, there are parts for that as well.
Spellbound | Supported Platforms: N/A
There have been many Spellbound leaks and hints but none of them has been confirmed by FromSoftware or Sony. On the bright side for PlayStation fans, the game hasn’t been confirmed to support multiple platforms. So, just like Bloodborne is a PlayStation exclusive, Spellbound is touted to be one too. What’s more? The name of the final game might not be Spellbound, so this is just the prototype name. So far, other reports have hinted at a game with features such as:
- The game might be teased in 2024.
- You may not need wands or staves to cast spells, unlike in Elden Ring. You can even dual-wield spells or leave one hand free for melee weapons.
- There are many melee weapons available, including swords, spears, halberds, axes, scythes, maces, and greatswords.
- A map that’s two-thirds the size of the one in Elden Ring. Heck, the map will be split into two areas, with one being drastically bigger than the other.
- The game will supposedly have a set character like the protagonist in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. So, you won’t be able to create your avatar from scratch.
- The length of the game will be shorter than that of Elden Ring, but the campaign will still be longer than Bloodborne’s single-player experience.
- There are allegedly many bodies of water in the game so players will be able to swim underwater too. Heck, the city itself may be set by the sea, so it’s a coastal empire.
- Players will reportedly be able to customise their clothes in-depth, down to the patterns and colours.
- Costumes aren’t only for aesthetics alone. Rather, some costumes make you hover in the air, altering your dodging movements. Other costumes can make you immune to fire.
- The game will be set in 18th-century Europe and there are many imperial capital vibes in the sandbox. Expect to explore many beautiful castles, towers, and palaces, unlike the post-apocalyptic theme of older FromSoftware games.
Recent FromSoftware Games Aren’t Getting Sequels Anytime Soon

The only game getting a continuation is Elden Ring, which is a DLC called Shadow of the Erdtree. This expansion will focus on the Lands Between’s Demigods, Miquella. So, there’s no chance of Sekiro 2, Dark Souls 4, Elden Ring 2, or Bloodborne 2 being released. Nevertheless, it’s still up to FromSoftware to decide the direction of its studio. However, because the new game will be a PlayStation exclusive, it might just be Bloodborne 2. Players who love horror games might love titles like Sons of the Forest.
Our Final Say: Nothing Is Set in Stone
Neither FromSoftware nor Sony have confirmed any leaks, hints, or insider information so far. Thus, we should take these leaks and hints seriously. For fans who think it’s too early for the studio to release a game, FromSoftware is notorious for launching games in quick succession. That is, they released Dark Souls 2, Bloodborne, and Dark Souls 3 in three years.
So, the leaks we’ve seen so far might be the prototype version of the game. It can be modified, overhauled, scrapped, or even delayed, depending on the executives. In the end, we’re excited about Spellbound and the in-game mechanics it’ll introduce to the Soulsborne series.
