Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin follows a pretty interesting rock-paper-scissor system to define troop strengths and weaknesses. However, one troop type, Heroes, falls outside this triangular system since they’re special troops with abilities. For now, Frontier Developments have only revealed the first two, but will Realms of Ruin have new heroes? Read ahead to find out.

Does Realms of Ruin Have New Heroes?
For now, the only two heroes that have been released are Yndrasta and Gobsprakk, who we’ll talk about more later on. What you should know is that both of these heroes are related to separate factions. While Yndrasta is the Stormcast Eternals Hero, Gobsprakk is the warlord for the Orruk Kruleboyz.
The reason this is so important is because it also guarantees Realms of Ruin will have new heroes in the near future. This is because there are a total of four factions within the game, and they don’t want to put any faction at a visible disadvantage. So we can expect heroes for the Nighthaunt and Disciples of Tzeentch as well. Without giving each faction a proper fighting chance, it would be unfair, and the play rate for the latter two factions would drop significantly.
Other than these two factions, we don’t have reliable assumptions on whether Realms of Ruin will have new heroes. This will be up to Frontier Developments’ discretion if they plan to release more content and expand the game even further. However, it is logical to think that they will slowly develop the game and release updates, and one of the easiest ways to do that is to introduce new factions and their respective heroes. So fret not; We’re quite confident Realms of Ruin will have new heroes dropping soon.
What Realms of Ruin Heroes Have Already Been Revealed?
As we previously mentioned, Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin already has two heroes that have been revealed inside the game. The first is the Stormcast Eternals Hero Yndrasta, and the other is the Orruk Kruleboyz Warlord Gobsprakk. Both of these heroes were released with the game’s official release on 17th November.
The unfortunate part is that they aren’t part of the primary game package if you’re looking to buy just that. Players who have purchased the Ultimate Edition of the game will have access to both these heroes; Otherwise, you can buy them for $4.99 separately or $8.99 together. For now, you can use these heroes in single-player Conquest, Skirmish, and multiplayer modes to dominate the map. When will Realms of Ruins have new heroes after these is still uncertain.

Yndrasta, The Celestial Spear
Yndrasta is the first hero we’ll be talking about. She is a humanoid-type hero who has the ability to fly due to her wings. Since each faction has some distinct characteristics about themselves, Yndrasta comes quite close to what some may refer to as an angelic figure.
Frontier Developments described her as a “Powerful flying hero” who is able to “Quickly jump in and out of the battlefield”. She has a unique weapon, her spear, Thengevar, that can disrupt enemy advances towards your army and give your own army some slight buffs. What we’ve gathered until now from the gameplay is that she can throw her spear into the thick of the fight to knock back or knock down enemies temporarily and make her army fear-immune.
Her ability, combined with the ability to fly, makes her a dangerous opponent to go up against since you not only need to focus on the ground army but also look up to the sky. Her CC effect could also turn the tables at a moment’s notice by disorienting your entire army and giving her a temporary buff or even a shield.

Gobsprakk, The Mouth of Mork
Gobsprakk is another flying hero who was introduced to Realms of Ruin, but this time, he’s on the side of the Orruk Kruleboyz. Gobsprakk uses his Corpse-rippa Vulcha to bring some aerial warfare into the fray. Unlike Yndrasta, he focuses more on mobility and assault rather than crowd control and buffs. With Orruk Kruleboyz being an army of orcs, Gobsprakk is an Orc shaman.
Frontier Developments described him as “An extremely mobile and late-game assault hero with the ability to unleash massive destructive powers unto his enemies”. This can definitely change the tide of battle since players can use their abilities to invoke disastrous attacks on their opponent’s armies.
